Hi all, like many joining to hopefully get a few pointers as I go along. I have a few things already surviving in my garden, including a magnolia that blossoms twice a year somehow??? Trying to make my standard lawn and hedge garden into something more interesting for the wildlife and edible for me, and maybe some of the wildlife.

Cheers Rusty, I'm not quite a gardener but I guess you are either called Rusty or you are playing with the 'rust' affecting some plants???

    Hi @beefpotnoodle ,

    :sign0016:

    Welcome to Gardeners Corner :)

You're not too far from me.

Your Magnolia is not that unusual. Their flowering is prompted by daylight length, so you'll find that they can flower in Spring and Autumn. There are other plants that are like this such as Aubrita, Alyssum and Wallflowers.

Welcome to GC, beefpotnoodle, prefer a bombay badboy, although the recent jerk chicken is pretty good

Welcome beefpotnoodle. :dbgrtmb: You said 'I'm literally a few hundred meters from (Dudley) Castle'! I think we went there before Cromwell knocked it down. And were roughly a couple of miles away from 1936 until came here to Dorset in 1965.
          Best Wishes to you from
          Uztwo

Thanks, yeah I'm about 100m from where the Earl of Dudley kept his armoury. My garden used to be the sewage run off!
