    Hope so :) A good sparring partnership between PM and leader of the opposition would be excellent and he doesn't exactly have big shoes to fill :whistle:

          I've just seen a clip on Youtube - Barney is not happy about progress - he says if we don't give up our fishing grounds - then there will be no deal. He's fallen into our trap.

          Blame the Eu for no deal.

            Well, if they don't want a deal and we do, it won't be our fault. We should give them unfettered access to our fishing grounds as long as we have the same unfettered access to their vineyards and olive groves......

              Vineyards, well not keen really, the rest of the world has those, as for olives they can poke them IMO.

              Hardly a good trade off for our fishermen.:smile:

                Aye, agreed, but to them they are quite precious - - - at least vineyards produce grapes and in theory wine which is palatable, we sure don't want unfettered access to Renault, Citroen or bloomin' brie! :heehee:

                  @pete finally someone else who does not like olives. I think they small like panther pee!

                  @Fat Controller if you're wanting to trade fish for wine- would it then be white wine? Or do you break the rules like I do :heehee:

                  I don't understand why the EU would insist on access to YOUR waters. Totally unreasonable.

                    @CanadianLori when it comes to alcohol, there are no rules :heehee:

                    The EU still think they own the UK and can dictate to it, and they think that by chucking their weight about that we will cave in. They have badly misjudged the UK people - the more you try and bully us, the stronger our middle finger becomes.....

                    PS - I hate olives too, I just couldn't really think of anything that the EU had that we would want unlimited access to.

                      Glad you didn't mention Peugeot Or Roquefort, Ossau Iraty and ashy chevre from the Berry.

                      You are most welcome to deny us unfettered access to those as well, especially the latter two cheeses

                          This nonsense around extending the transition period - yea :

                          - we won't be able to benefit from the trade deals we've already made with non EU countries;
                          - we'll have to stump up another billion for the privilege of non membership;
                          - we'll have to bail out the Euro - not least our friends in Italy.

                          Boris may look and act daft - but he's not stupid enough to agree to an extension - he knows that he would receive a severe bottom kicking if he did.

                          I've heard that Domino C is pressing ahead at speed with no deal prep's - abandon negotiations in June - and look forward to a brighter future - working in cooperation with our trading partners - not being managed by them.

                          Italexit - one of the founding members packing it in (and who can blame them) - the EU is on the brink of collapse as a political union - we need to move back to beneficial trading arrangements - and further distance ourselves from the EU.
