Yes I wish @shiney can't get through to our surgery, can't get through to the chemist,so I went round and posted a letter through the chemist letter box ,and they have had so many people asking for deliveries that they have started charging all the new people who have, who they say have jumped on the bandwagon (their words not mine);)

@JWK John, totally agree they are blaming patients for not wanting to go to the doctor, but it is their making.
My surgery has been going down hill for a long time and I think they are using this as an excuse to pretty much shut up shop.
They have in excess of 10 000 patients on their books, more houses being built all the time, it's going to crack at some point.

We'll have to find out what our surgery is doing about it as we soon need repeats. :hate-shocked:

We had to pop out for some medicine etc today (I was merely chauffeur!) and the roads are significantly busier than they have been in recent weeks. Homebase is now open, B&Q is now open, Greggs are starting to re-open - - looks like lockdown is falling apart.

Lockdown will fall apart, we are being treated like mushrooms.

People are starting to trickle back to work, which will increase traffic, I cant see a problem regarding traffic as such, we are all in our own bubble.

I understood why B&Q etc were allowed to open so folks can get essential repairs done, but I get the feeling people are flocking there for paint, cushions and curtains. Might as well tart the place up in lockdown without a thought for putting lives at risk.

God only knows why Greggs exists in the first place, have we become incapable of sticking two pieces of bread together? Plus they charge a fortune and it's rubbish.

I used to like Greggs when it was a bakers, but they seem to have stooped that now and are basically a sandwich shop with nothing baked on site.

Mrs. Sandy Ground works for a company here that manufactures packaging material here. She was telling me that all of the machines are running at maximum capacity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but still cant keep up with demand. Added to that, the machines that usually make the material for flour bags, etc., are the same ones that are used for making....face masks!

Of course, as most people are aware, when we are told to do something, we dont want to do it. If we are asked, its easier to accept. Thats probably the reason the lockdown over there seems to be breaking down.

Today it is 22c and sunny with a pleasant light breeze. Sat outside "socialising" for the first time in months with a friend who installed a new high "comfort" toilet today following my knee replacement and hip revision. We sat in the lower dining patio area 2 meters apart having a drink. Gosh, was it nice having a chat about this and that. He has three teenage boys ... he and the boys have taken up vegetable growing and bread making, good news.

In think its breaking down because other counties are easing their lockdowns, and our government are not giving us any light at the end of the tunnel.

I seem to remember in the daily briefing about three weeks ago waffling on about green shoots, those green shoot appear to have died back and because Boris has been out of it, no body else wanted to make a decision.

Boris needs to come up with some thing today to actully show that its working because all we see is graphs that say it can come back at any time.
                          And I think it will.

I was under the impression that Sweden hasn't got a lock down?
Looking at something the other day and it was comparing deaths by million of population.
I think Sweden was the worst?

IMO we in the UK need to have some patience and continue this lockdown, yes it is slow, but please stay at it otherwise it will never go away.
I've been in lockdown for 6 weeks now, not been outside the house only the back garden.
We are all in it together and that's how it should remain.
