Yeah wrong again, it was probably before they started adding in the care home totals.

Trouble is I'm not convinced it will go away, whatever we do, as soon as the lockdown stops it will rear its ugly head again.

Remember, the lock down is there to stop the NHS from being overwhelmed it's not there to stop it spreading as such.

They dont appear to have a clue, and are pinning hopes on a vaccine in a years time, may be?
But then they come out with the revelation that they dont know if you can catch it twice, ie. if anti bodies work?
If they dont then I cant see how a vaccine is going to work?

I'm back :rolleyespink: ... it's space pete and sadly the UK has become a bit overcrowded me'thinks. Here in Algarve we have 13 deaths, Alentejo the Province above us which occupies nearly 1/3 of Portugal has 1 death.

You cant say that, how many in Potugal, I could mention how many in Kent, but its not representative of the UK.
Yes the UK is over crowded 60 odd million against your 10.
But mention immigration and you are immediately a racist, they are still pouring in in rubber boats at Dover now.

@pete you are correct. We dont have a compulsory lockdown as yet, only a voluntary one. Its against the Swedish constitution for the government to order a lockdown. They can only do it if the relevant authorities suggest its the correct way to go. It has to be a bilateral decision.

Thats because they are counted differently here. From the English news channels, (I dont know if this is true or not) I'm lead to believe that in the UK, only hospital deaths due to Covid have been recorded. Here, its all as they are counted, no matter where they die.

Look at the figures a different way. The UK has roughly 65 million inhabitants. Sweden roughly 10 million. My logic would say that if all things were equal, then there would be 6,5 times as many deaths in the UK as Sweden. From figures I've just seen on tv, UK hospital deaths alone are more than 10 times the amount here. Statistics are rarely reliable, because they are dependent on how they are worked out.

Well I will say this only once:heehee:,I believe the UK has done it right, and is still doing it right, and I am still pleased that I reside here, you can quote all the figures of comparative other countries but it doesn't work like that ,and Woo believes that the UK are one of a very few countries quoting the true figures, wait and see when this is all over then you will see the truth,in the meanwhile .PLEASE STAY AT HOME AND STAY SAFE:old: and enjoy your evening:smile:

Agree, I've always said the UK is overpopulated but was once corrected and told the population could fit onto the isle of wight, bit of a stupid statement but just points out how people think.

Yes, as most deaths and infection occur in places of mass population, so if you live in rural areas you have an advantage.

I think you also have to add to the fact that in the UK we have some european hub airports, which along with those coming back from holidays skiing earlier really set the ball rolling.

Yes we should have shut down the air ports earlier, but imagine the outcry of not letting people in.

It was pretty simple for some countries like Australia, New Zealand they have always had strict entry.

I just went on our surgery's website and this is what they showed. (I've removed the link to the System online and the surgery phone number.)

Yep, my surgery has a website, but you cant register without going to the surgery with your driving licence and a completed application form that you can down load.
I cant print the form because I dont have a working printer, I'm obviously a real weirdo, and they wont open the door at the surgery to show your driving licence.

I m getting the impression they dont really want the effort.

I see you only have a 2 hour slot to get your phone calls in.:yikes:
Presumably one hour of that will be for lunch.
