    Hi,
I recently planted alpines in my rockery. It’s a sunny area, sandy soil with some clay. I bought aubretia, lobiela and snow in summer. I soaked before putting in and planted in with plenty of compost. However, they are dying fast!!! I thought these plants were easy and hardy. I’d like to buy more as ground cover but not sure what to do.
(I’ve also recently put bark chipping down to cover soil, but it was dying before this)
    Thank you I’m advance

    Dry?
    Do you water them?
The lobelia looks like the annual bedding plant type.

    Hi,
It could be but I saw lots of advice that they don’t like to be watered and to leave dry. I’ve been watering others but stopped watering these when it looked like they were dying.
    Sorry it’s not a lobiela - it’s lithodora.
    Thanks!

    Lithodora, ok that makes sense.
Well only guessing from the pics but they look dry to me.
They like dryish growing conditions but only once established.
