    That's very true.
I can imagine my kid saying something like that in a few years :D

I'm building a couple of steps down to the septic tank area, not the easiest of jobs. Having finished for the day I sat on the bottom step, and can honestly say the view wasn't very appealing.

My friend. I am inclined to agree with you. People have changed so much and so fast.

Without this lockdown. I would look forward to going to Tesco. Shopping is a drudge for most, but I enjoyed the chance to see and meet and perhaps chat with others.

At one time a man would raise his hat to a woman. Do that now and you are looked at strangly.

A typical one of mine is. Bumping into an other shopper in the next isle. 'So we meet again, we'll get talked about. Nowadays it seems the only time another speaks to you is to tell you to ***off

Planted a few tromboncino squash and my last sunburst patty. I used large pots and added two tomatillos in too. The squashes grow extremely large, so I am not entirely sure if it was a good idea, but if it works it will look very pretty (and hopefully bountiful too).
The tomatoes are growing tall, so I added long canes for support.

Yesterday afternoon I brought my kid to the natural reserve around the corner. It so beautiful over there, the wildlife trust did a pretty good job of maintaining the paths despite of the lockdown and in this season it looks gorgeous.

Continuing to plant up the summer borders. It's proving to be very hot work!

@Mike Allen, yes I have some perennial Wallflowers too, I have chopped some back recently and they are now budding up again. I only sow the perennial ones each year, and then decide on the ones I wish to keep ....if any. Not that keen on them really but they do provide an early splash of colour.

We've finished planting the first set of runner beans - 96 of them. The next set (we grow them in succession) will go out in two week's time. French beans to be planted tomorrow. I also planted up the corn on the cob and have done more bird and rabbit protection. Sprinkler is back on the beans and corn.

Someone is coming round for plants later on. :blue thumb:

Today we’ve done lots of little jobs, and a big job. Feeling gooooood!

A precious Birdbath that we’ve had for nearly 20 years, had started to crack. It was no longer watertight. So, earlier this week I went on a hunt, and third shop lucky, found some clear silicone. Today we have sealed the cracks, top and underside, in two layers. It is now holding water again! I’ve filled it with water, and repositioned it in its position, half-buried amongst some hardy geraniums. No doubt the birds will be bathing again soon, taking the pressure off the wildlife pond and water barrel.

The veg beds were in desperate need of water (we have had hardly any rain since the beginning of February, and lots of hot weather- so are officially in drought). So french and runner beans were watered, along with mangetout peas, courgettes and a squash plant.

A couple of years ago I bought three golden celebration roses, and planted them in the island bed. They have never really taken off, I think struggling with the competition of two trees. So this afternoon I bit the bullet, and transferred two of them to the drive bed (formally known as the pink bed). Two large holes were dug, about 40 litres of compost brought up. The roses were dug from their old positions (not much root growth), and planted in the new site, with a watering hose placed under each rootball. Hopefully they will do transplant ok - they certainly weren’t happy where they were!

Time for a beer! (Well, it is Ascension Day, so a public holiday here!!)

                          Gotta love propagators..
These were seeded on the 18th, night time, and they are alreay coming out.
Actually, they are the first melon seeds I ever managed. And they are from a supermarket melon...

The seeds I have bought (two different qualities and from different sellers) failed miserably.
Crossing my fingers for the chilli now.

Could anybody tell me what this plant is?

Thank you @Logan . I didn't quite realise how much I missed not having one then when I've tried to get a decent one over the past couple of weeks it's been difficult. As you have read I has very excited when I got it ;)
