Young Stonechat, Had a brief glimpse of a Cuckoo yesterday although I have heard one nearly every day for the last two weeks plus the first Spotted Flycatcher but too quick for a shot

A orange tip butterfly raced past, borne on the wind. Lovely sight. Such a pretty creature

After the loss last Autumn of the male pheasant that visited us to be fed two or three times a day, another has honoured us with his presence. He's a big bird with different markings on his wings and in lovely condition. He's been visiting for the last three weeks but whether he'll become as tame as the last one, I'll have to wait and see. I'm yet to get a photo of him.

Sanderlings and Dunlin at Ferrybridge, Weymouth, both now in summer plumage but will be leaving for the high Arctic in a week or so and back in the Autumn. Turnstones are also in breeding colours.

There were still some late arriving Wheatears at Portland, all female, most would be at their breeding sites by now.

They prefer to be in more open spaces @KFF but are happy seeking food in town gardens.
