Whilst I was reading this thread I received the first spam phone call I've had in years. Not had one since I've had this phone with Call Guardian. They tried to tell me they were calling me about the my car accident and they were from a law firm.

I had ten minutes of great fun with them. He hung up on me  :loll:

I broke a tooth last Saturday so rang the dentist. An automated response said emergencies are for bleeding and swelling. No mention of anything else, so it looks like I'll have to put up with it for the time being. :frown:

Listening to a GP talking on the tv atm.
She's saying people have been scared to go to the doctors.
Seems they a getting ready for the blame game to start.
Talking to a nurse who did my blood test a couple of days ago she said you can't see a doctor, they won't see anyone, you have to phone and ask if you can talk to one.
The one phone line they have is pretty much impossible to get through on.
Nurses are still expected to see patients, so why not doctors.

          From the beeb:

Ant and Dec have apologised for impersonating people of colour on Saturday Night Takeaway.

The duo concealed their real identities with darker make-up and prosthetics in order to pull pranks on famous people.

So, are we going to get another apology because they also concealed their real identities with lighter make-up and prosthetics in order to pull pranks on famous people?

Or does their view of racism only apply to black people?

The other thing - are ITV going to apologise for the 'Spitting Image' series - where they had grotesque caricatures of famous white people - and took the mickey out of them? Mind you they might, as I think there was a Frank Bruno puppet.

I was pleased to see that one of the statues depicting a slaver was to be set up in a museum - there's nothing more dangerous than hiding from the past - we need to remember so that we don't repeat again - IMHO.

              Rant over....

Noticed the BBC took great delight in showing over and over again, the statue that was illegally removed and dumped in the river at Bristol, hanging upside down and half under water.

I wouldn't mind betting they told the workers to hold it in that position while they filmed it.
Cant see why else if your hauling something like that out of the water you would leave it half way.

                  The beeb:

Footage appears to show the officer trying to restrain a man but they then fall to the ground with the officer pinned under the suspect.

Passers-by began filming and taking selfies as the officer and the suspect grappled.

These passers-by - they also need to identified and fined - it doesn't take much to restrain someone to assist the Police. If it's just pulling the attacker off the Police Officer. Cowards in my book.

Egypt - they'll have to dismantle the pyramids - they were made by slaves weren't they.

That's it for today - no more moaning.

The way things are now, if you had hit his attacker, the copper would have probably got up and charged you with assault.
That is, after he had got up from kneeling on one knee.

I visited my doctor yesterday for my bi-annual shot in the stomach and he walked in with the plastic shield, and one of those big respirator type masks underneath. He refused to say, "these are not the droids... " :heehee:

We have a street here called Dundas. It is one of the oldest major roads we have and now some facebook warriors want it renamed because over 200 years ago this dude named Dundas opposed abolishing slavery. I never knew the bio of this fellow and am disappointed to learn of it but am outraged that a few people want a traditional name removed after all these years.

These same people want Winston Churchill's name removed from a road and a school here!

What next. Remove the word black or white from street names?

Its getting to the point of Mob rule, and if those in charge don't get a grip I think we could be looking at civil war in some places.
Really pleased to see the locals protesting about the removal of Baden Powell's statue in Poole.
Apparently these ar** holes have a hit list of statues and that one is on it, the council want to remove it to stop it getting damaged.

So they, (the leftie PC brigade), have won then, haven't they.

Apparently they have arrested four individuals in relation to this (assuming you are referring to the incident in Hackney?). I would give ALL police always-on bodycams that continually or frequently back up to the cloud, and I would also give them all tasers. This would have a two-fold effect, firstly allow police to actually do their job and police things - stop them being over-run by thugs, also it would record evidence of crimes and incidents, whether those wrongdoings were on behalf of a member of the public or the police themselves. Any officer tampering with or attempting to switch off or deliberately cover the camera should be assumed guilty by default and sacked. Likewise any other person obscuring the camera or its microphone should be assumed guilty of assaulting a police officer (at the least) and charged.
