Where's the best place to get some concentrate glyphosate? Looking on fleabay there's 5l for around £28 with delivery, does that sound reasonable?

Hi @Loofah - concentrated means a lot of different things! Need to check the grams per litre. It doesn't sound bad if it's the same concentration as commercial gardeners use, but I'd wait for someone like @Cuttings who knows what they're talking about. If it's any help, I got some serious stuff at 480 gram/litre and the PPE to go with it. But I think I paid a lot more than that.

Got some for the allotment - after a bit of resurche - ebay was the cheapest.

360/l is very strong - far more potent than the B&Q specials - be extra careful when you use it .

I might be stupid but surely it depends on how much water you put with it?

The different strengths available to the general public varies, pete is right, its to do with the grammes per litre, normal roundup is I think about 450g/litre and round up extra is about 560g/l, but dont quote me on that, its been a long time since I used it.
Pro formula are better, if you can get them, they have other ingredients such as sufactants (excuse the spelling) and more glyphosate per 100g/litre, I have seen, some for sale on ebay and amazon, but again you could try BHGS, but they may not sell it to you, if your not trade, and because of the volume, we used to bye in quantities of 5 litre to 25 litres.
But a tip when using Glyphosate, it works better in cooler conditions, not freezing, but apply it in the evening rather than midday, its more effective. Pricewise £28 for 5 litres delivered, as long as its a pro formula, good price.

I've also noticed that during the drought conditions we are having at the moment its not working that well.
I presume because the weeds are not growing particully well they are not absorbing it.

Also a good idea if you're worried about whatever you're spraying possibly affecting insects, best done after the bees have retired for the day.

I use 360 Glyphosate from Ebay, the price you have is about right. I dilute it to approx 4%, and try to use it responsibly.
As @pete said, I have noticed at certain times of the year it is not very effective. Unless you accidentally get some on your lawn - that takes a full year to grow back!

I also found an interesting thing when I applied a relatively weak spray of it to some jungle weed growth before digging my bed. Everything was killed except barley/wheat which had grown from bird seed. It was positively thriving. Maybe an example of a 'Roundup ready' genetically modified crop?

Think the brand was Gallup XL, no idea if it’s good bad or indifferent but may as well give it a punt. Should last a while!

I bought Gallup last year and used it on a large crop of bracken after Round Up had no effect whatsoever. It's killed it all but it's lethal stuff so be careful with it.

Try. Watering first. Then soaking with the kiiler stuff.

when applying glyphosate it’s best not to soak it. You want droplets to form on the leaf rather than a run off. This will be more effective, less waste and better for the environment. It’s also better not to apply to a wet plant and you want nice calm weather, over cast and not direct sun light.

The container should have mixture rates, different brands tend to have differences ie rain fast, low drift, better break down on cells and so on. Hard water also lowers the performance and you can obtain other chemicals to improve this but it bumps up the price and these tend to be for users trained to required standards. Round 480 for example is better for hard water areas.

there are also some that can’t be used with hand held sprayers so it pays to check. Again mostly found for trained sprayers.

most will have different mixture rates for various targeted plants. When you use a good sprayer and correct nozzles and measurements you will use very little.

it can also be applied neat using an atomiser type sprayer which is also effective but the spray devices are expensive.

@Liz the pot , what would be the best solution mix percentage for Glyphosate 360 Gallup? Just for general garden weeds.
