They're as good as I hoped they would be, Perki, and if anything some of them were bigger than I thought they would be. When you consider that most of them are still flowering and some are just starting to flower they've given us weeks of colour. So, if they flower next year I'll be more than pleased.

This was day before yesterday - I moved a dwarf Lilac bush. It had become very unkempt and I cut it back so that only the base of the stems were left, and also this stopped it from wilting, and I also cut several suckers off it too. It will grow back a bit by the spring and won't look such a mess.

Then I dug up some Cyclamen corms in order to replant the Lilac in its new position. They were huge ! :yikes: and I planted them where the Lilac bush was. Now I'll be able to see them better. :yay:

I also dug up some Snowdrop bulbs and Primroses which were around the Lilac bush and replanted them in a 'better' position.

Then I pruned, rather severely, a Vuburnum tinus that was becoming too big. It will also grow back by the winter (I hope ! :please: )

Yesterday did a bit of weeding and today picked some blackcurrants.

Noticed some of the blueberries were ripening so quickly covered them up before the black birds found them, they've already had a go at the redcurrants but I've got a lot of them so it doesn't matter as much.

Not too much done, as we had torrential rain from 2.30 pm ( got drenched to the skin!).

But I did get 10 bags of mature garden compost bagged up out of the third compost bay. Just got 5 more bags to go, then I can start rotating from the other bays...

Awww @ARMANDII I had some beautiful Allium Nectorscordum in my last garden. I had to leave them :cry3: I had planted them as a complete novice not really knowing what they were. When they grew so tall and stunning I was over the moon :wub2: I must get some more. Beautiful pictures as always :blue thumb:

The white Kitten, (Teasel), has learned that trick, Sheal, from the innocent looking one in the corner and they both usually seem to do that when they catch sight of me on the Patio. The wire is actually for a short lace curtain which they have pushed/pulled to one side but will hide behind when the Sun is too hot.
The little black and white Kitten, Fern, actually managed to, today, climb into a lower Kitchen Cabinet, and then get underneath and couldn't get out. Going into the Kitchen I thought it had gone quiet and couldn't find Fern while Teasel was acting innocent. Then I heard scrabbling sounds and had to pull the Cabinet skirting out so that Fern could climb out:dunno:.............she seems to find trouble and situations every day:heehee:

Well, you know the nature of my garden and that it has high fences to keep my previous Cats in and others out but, at the moment I have 48 pieces of 12' long 4" X 2" timber lying on my Driveway waiting to be cut into 6' feet lengths to be dropped horizontally between the concrete posts up to and beyond 6' high with the 3' chicken wire frames added on top so they will have to wait.
There is another thing in that I have an overwhelming desire to keep my Kittens/Cats safe and not become road kill and ensuring they are never left out in the cold etc. With a Dog let out into the garden you can point and say "In, Fido" and it will go. Do that with two Kittens and say "Fern, Teasel, In" and there is no chance. So I would have two Cats/Kittens out in that jungle of a garden with no chance of getting them back in until food and hunger brought them in. I think the real problem, for me, is that my other Cats would go out for an evening patrol and be back in by midnight but with these two "monkeys" there's a good chance that come time to lock up the House they will still be out there and be locked out until the morning.......sounds daft but I would worry about that. Cat flaps are out as my Doors are good thick wooden doors and I have no intention of cutting into them. My answer before was to leave the Kitchen door ajar during the day and evening so that my previous Cats could come and go and they had learnt to be back for a night on the Sofa. I'll have to meet them halfway somehow!!

@ARMANDII, I trained my cat to come in (most nights) by giving her a treat if she came when called. She answers to her name now and will always acknowledge that she's heard me, even if she doesn't come running, though she usually does. Every now and again she insists on a night out and comes in safely the next morning. I do understand the worry (I'd rather she didn't stay out) and of course there are probably different hazards around your house than at mine.

I give my cat a treat if she comes when called - but she gets selective deafness when she'd rather be in the hedge bothering slow worms.....
