Dead heading, wiping blackfly from flowering stems, searching for missing pkts of lettuce seeds ,which hubs found in the greenhouse..:noidea:. Sorted out my bulbs and placed them in paper bags until Autumn. No idea which are which so sorted then in size groups, that's what I find so hard with bulbs....they all tend to look the same!!:heehee: Finally, watering.
Then sat under the sun parasol with an ice lolly playing Sudoku.:dbgrtmb:

Our Cardoon was festooned with Blackfly but the ladybirds found them, no blackfly left!

Spent today sorting out my neighbour's water feature, I've put an outdoor double socket on the garage and I was absolutely baking inside the garage doing all the cabling, she was made up when she saw it working. She's been telling me she's had to have someone out a few times because she's had large amounts of flies in the garage to be honest whoever has done the job for her must be either blind, not be able to smell or just after more money, because 5 mins in the garage my nose told me something wasn't right in there a little bit of investigation I found a planter with rotting rat carcasses, I'm assuming they've been living in the garage for a few years taking the rat bait from my garden and on the odd occasion dying in there hence the flies, there's fresh rat poo in there so I'll see what I can do.

I watered the borders and pots late last night as the forecast for today was 80°f + thank god I did it's been boiling. Popped to the GC for some manure and mpc whilst the conifers were being taken out of the front garden. Early evening I repotted the Snapdragons, chillies and tomatoes. The tomatoes had been in their new pots for 5 minutes when the puppy climbed in and chewed some slug pellets :yikes: Googled it and it put me into an immediate panic. :help: Rang the vet. They told me to ring the poisoned animal number. A recorded message said it was £35 to get advice. Paid it in a frenzy. To be told he would have to have eaten at least 25grams to give him the poos. Anything over that may make him vomit. I think he ate a couple :wallbanging: went back round the garden covering any pellets in pots. :gaah: the dog is absolutely fine. :love30: I NEED A BEER :rolleyespink:

Glad to read all was OK in the end @Jasmine star ....they are like toddlers and are so very inquisitive!! You have to have eyes in the back of your head!!:doggieshmooze: Bless them!

Made an early start out in the garden before certain areas get unbearably hot. I will do my daily round of dead heading at leisure later this morning....it's my favourite task of summer...my hubs is definitely not allowed to do it. It's mine....all mine!!:heehee:

Off to do another recovery swoop on my Dad's garden this afternoon with my older sister. It's probably not ideal weather but it has to be done as time is running short.

@Upsydaisy your not wrong there. This one is definitely on the naughty pooch list. I don't think I've ever had a dog as inquisitive/cheeky/brazen as this one. The research I did into this breed before I bought him was not what I got :lolpt::gaah: he makes me smile though.

@Upsydaisy chihuahua. We've never had this breed before. He's really small which doesn't help when he's running through the border with his chainsaw teeth felling anything in his way. Then he looks at me with stealth as if to say "yeh what you gonna do" :th scifD36:

On another note I hope you manage to get what you want from your dads garden. It must be difficult for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get good results from whatever you take. It would be lovely to end up with some of his beautiful plants :imphrt:

Today I'm finding shade, sitting in it, and aiming the hose directly at my face.

I really can't function when it's this hot.
