Identification game

Mandevillea used to be called Diplodemia.

 

Well, nearly right, I assume that P. jasminoides, I did have P. pandorana once but it wasn't very hardy and died second winter.
I now grow Podranea ricasoliana which look very similar but flowers in large clusters.

 

I dont know these two, I'd have a stab at houttuynia for no1 just based on leaf shape.
No2 perhaps a dogwood.

Ipomoea black something or other and Loropetalum?

 

Now I do remember seeing a dark leaved Ipomoea last year now you mention it @strongylodon

 

The Loropetalum could be Fire Dance which I had once but couldn't take -7c and croaked.

 

I didn't know there was a dark Ipomoea with entire leaves - the only ones I have seen had those 3 lobed ones. Do they flower visibly?

 

Oh I like you, you are good, (non sexually of course), and as long as you are not using an id app, but bob on, I see I am going to have to delve deeper into my obscure plant collection

 

Occassionally they produce a small bell shaped pink flower, this one is called sweet caroline black, I have one that is a climber called solar tower

 

ID apps, do they work?
Strongy is an EX professional, I dont think he would use an App.

 

There are some very good ones at present, take a photo, and not only do they tell you the genus, but the variety as well, it can even tell the difference between lobelia Richardii, and the new varieties from cross breeding from richardii, data is king

 

I have seen some apps identify, correctly from photo's
