    Good day
Beautiful blue skies greeted me this morning. And here I am on my laptop - it is still working in spite of getting a drenching last night. About midnight a heavy thunderstorm blew in and lots got wet before I could get all the windows shut. We had a 20% chance for rain which usually means none but this time it meant 20% of the night :rolleyespink: Anyway, very glad this laptop didn't fry and delighted about all the free water. I rejigged my guttering on the greenhouses and this morning the large rain barrel has the most amount of water it has ever had. :)

This morning is puttering and watching my beloved Corrie. Then this afternoon I'm going to be making the legs for my collapsible staging. I'm using old metal tubing and found that some of the tubes can't be shortened using my pipe cutter so a lot of hack saw work in front of me. :phew: And I will pop over to the pub to say hello to some friends, for the first time in nearly 4 months.:blue thumb:

Have a lovely day all. :)

Which is a blessing at night. Especially in a gale.. Actually that wears off when you get used to codeine.

Thanks re the weather! They are warning of an extra 30-50 mm imminent. Always wonder why the ocean does not overflow..

              Aloha everyone,

Yesterday was a busy day with two family Zooms, one with 40 people get's very chaotic :rolleyespink: I also had to go up to London last night to pick up a food order from a Deli.

It's very blustery and a bit nippy out there this morning but I've done my morning squishing, spoken nicely to the ladybirds and tied in and wound up more beans.

Someone may be coming today to see whether they can repair the greenhouse - and to quote for it. He is the man that, later this year, will be repairing and repointing our patio. The quotes ranged from £1,400 to almost £4,500 :yikes:

              Keep well

              Aloha!

Morning all.. Another long loud night with the gale roaring and rain battering. Punch drunk through lack of sleep. Another day of it they say. Chilly and grey.

Someone mentioned Coronation Street? Not for me but I am binge watching " Heartbeat" online.

I ditched TV totally back way before the new millennium for many reasons. The internet is grand.

                    Good day
Another day of sunshine and going to be a hot one. Hopefully the wind will keep calm so my friend and I can do our zip lining. It got cancelled because of the wind the last time. Apparently a bit of wind can make people on those cables bounce around like bingo balls. :yikes: @pete I should have made it clearer when I described it- the drop is only about like jumping off a 20 storey building, the run out is fairly long. Not nearly as dramatic as I originally made it sound. Ignominious moment here..

I'll just be watering all the pots before I head out.

@shiney I hope you get a reasonable quote. Sure sounds like a nasty amount of money but your greenhouse is lovely and big, so hopefully worth saving.

Have a lovely day all :)

The man has been to look at the greenhouse and said he can do it cheaply as it's only some timber that he needs and won't take long to do. It's only a patch up job as the greenhouse is nearly 50 years old. He'll do it next week but the patio can't be done until September as its such a big job. The paving covers about 2,000 sq ft. :rolleyespink:

He had turned up on his Harley and went away with two chilli plants in the pannier :heehee:. Their plants hadn't done very well and ours are already fruiting. :blue thumb:

Been out doing an inspection as the wind died leaving a soft Irish rain and utter stillness. Always amazed at how resilient plants are. My peas are battered down and shoots wind scorched but may yet win through. The small tree lupin of the batch I grew from seed that got stripped by big black slugs is putting out a new leaf. There is always hope. So a quiet day here as worn out with that four day wind event. knitting face masks etc, Three cats asleep on the bed with me. Oh someone has woken up... Aloha everyone,

Well, I've done my shopping and also been down to the glaziers about the glass for the greenhouse. As we're only up the road from them they will drop it in for us as it's too big to fit in the boot of my car.

I'll do my daily squishing later and then busy this afternoon.

                              Keep well

                                Good day
Here I am looking at another bright hot day. Another 90+f day. It was a bit uncomfortable for sleeping last night as it only went down to 75f and a bit sticky so I'm feeling sluggish this morning.

Had a great time going for my ziplining yesterday and did a lot of walking so got a good workout for my muscles, my heart and my nerves! I am terrified of heights so propelling from 220 feet up was literally good for a long scream :heehee:

We bypassed her place on the way back from Niagara Falls and stopped in to see if the patio for a restaurant we like was open. Wonderful. They had lots of tables so we had a late lunch there and found out that they are open for breakfast now too. We'll meet there in a couple of weeks for that :)

I've got a few things to get done outside today and a friend popping by for some of my special Christmas cake. He has aches and pains that the oil takes care of.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and keep cool!
