            Aloha everyone,

hope you are all feeling OK this morning :)

The sun is shining and I'm waiting to get out there and mow. Although I can legally mow from 7 a.m. I shall give it until 8 a.m. We're far enough from our neighbours for it not to bother them by then. Need to get it done as the mower is going into hospital tomorrow for a new gasket  - on a brand new mower . I've been waiting two months for them to have their transport drivers back at work. It's a warranty job and, hopefully, shouldn't take long. The work itself is only an hour or so but the pickup and delivery slots are like hen's teeth. They say between two days and a week depending on whether they have the right gasket in stock. Can't mow this afternoon as I'm busy.

            Keep well

            Aloha!

The day surely cannot get worse; and that is not a challenge as I know it could.

Decided to venture for a short early walk as I am seizing up else.

The gate here is a big field gate and I keep it padlocked with a chain. There IS a sign saying PRIVATE but maybe some folk cannot read lol... Or saying in one case that that did not apply to them ...I rest abed a lot so need privacy There is even a covid cocooning sign up and so far no one has breached that. Anyways I unlocked and opened the gate as usual, hanging the gubbins on the fence. When I came back, the padlock was there but no chain and I cannot find it! And the hordes of Midian found me. Itch ouch itch ouch.. I have tied the gate up but it will do no good. Wherever I have lived in Ireland signs have been disregarded and at one place we had to put barbed wire atop the gate.

How can a long length of chain vanish like that?

The islands are now open to incomers. Need to train the cats to ATTACK!

I know I have to go out and search again as it cannot just vanish.
As soon as we get a breeze.... but the forecast is not good
              .

                Bit strange there @Islander77 !!

Not a bad day ahead, loads to to in the garden after all the horrendous winds we've had.

Been feeling off colour for a few days now, and woke up feeling much the same ( nothing contagious ,just a long standing problem)

On the plus side had a lovely catch up with friends yesterday, one being a friend since school days.:)

The saddest thing was that we had all had a death to cope with during lockdown ( non Covid related).

Have a good day, stay safe.:spinning:

Nope. Too many midges. The funny thing is I keep meaning to replace the lock which means replacing the chain with bigger as the lock is too small so I may order that today. Wil be here before the weekend.

Of course as soon as the order is emailed it will turn up... And the gate is very well tied up. Very few folk around just now but I feel better if the lock is on. There was actually one nasty incident three years ago. Had to involve the Gardai

PS hasten to add it was not a resident islander. Small islands with no Gardaí can attract odd bods .

                        Good day everyone
It is Canada Day here. I proudly have my flags flying year round and I keep spares in the cupboard in case one becomes worn or damaged. It would never do to have a worn flag flying! I've got lots of little flags that I will be placing about the lawns out front for the little kids in the neighbourhood.

                        Have a good day everyone!

p.s. @Flumpy I remember those cabbage patch dolls. It was the only time I wished one of my boys had of been a girl so I would have a good excuse for buying one!
