Hope you're all well this morning and ready for the day ahead.:)

Just came in for breakfast after sweeping the far side west patio. Noticed as I was going out yesterday that there were loads of clumps of moss strewn over it, not sure if it was deposited by the strong winds or the birds, anyway it's all tidy now.:dbgrtmb:

Not sure what's on the agenda today ,have a long list of jobs to be done just need to work out a timetable. At some point ,today or tomorrow, I need to look in at Dad's to check things over too.

Whatever you're up to stay safe and have a good day.:spinning:

Had a second sleep so am caught up. I was out looking at the estate; whatever else the weather is causing there are masses of leafy greens that I pick every few days. Wonderful! Pulled a scad of chickweed with them.

Read wiki on chickweed. Amazing food; rich in iron and vitamin C and in some countries they grow it as a crop.

But they look delicious! I just put a steamed sponge on; it will warm the house in the cooking and serve as cake. Sultanas therein.

and scraping the bowl was .... mmmmm

                    Good day
I won't be doing any baking indoors this week as it is in the 90f's every day. I have a friend coming for lunch tomorrow. It is his 70th birthday so I'll start the wood oven tomorrow morning to do some baking and also use the sun oven to cook a casserole. That will keep the heat out of the house :)

But I need to get out and do a little shopping before I can cook anything as I need the food to do it! The new flyers usually arrive today, coinciding with the start of this weeks offers. I don't know if it's just me but I really feel that the weekly special offers are not as thrifty as they used to be. Seems to me the regular prices have risen a bit too since this '19 business started

I have lots of puttering to do and will enjoy doing it whilst listening to John Nettles. They are playing the old Midsomer Murders on one of our stations here during the day on Thursdays. Always fun. I really want a theramin!

Take care and enjoy our snowless days! :blue thumb:

                      EUREKA!

I did a careful finger search as the area is where the broad beans are; no luck. So I stared at the patch for several minutes and there came a small glint of metal amid the green. I had actually worked out a way of making a chain; I used to make beaded key rings for market and still have a bag of the metal rings left...

@Islander77 I had my bag of clothes pins disappear a couple of weeks ago. Searched about the garden and was mystified as I couldn't see it. Then I just happened to get a glimpse of it one day and after pulling it out of the hostas, I've got it secured on the line. How can I lose something that size I thought

Hoping everyone had a good night and are now ready to face whatever the day has in store.

I hope to get a good long session out in the garden today as this week has been a busy one and has only permitted me to have numerous short spells out there.

Have to go out mid morning but not for long so the afternoon has been booked for gardening duties only .:dbgrtmb:
