They'd only be 1m away from others if they were in the middle of a 2m wide circle.

Ryanair are in conflict with the Irish health authorities. THEY want people to fly of course whereas our Health Officer says staycations. As we had such a brilliant threesome dealing with covid-19 here and most days now have no deaths, I trust them rather than the vested interests of an airline. The latter are getting exasperated as in " Ireland is not some covid-free Tir Na Nog" . We are already moving towards a second wave.

            Our border opened today ...

"AMAL and Turismo do Algarve will mark the reestablishment of the crossing point on the border between Andalusia and the Algarve, in a ceremony that will take place on 1 July, at 12:15pm, in the garden of Posto de Tourism of the Guadiana International Bridge."

Hopefully only virus-free folk come to visit. :fingers crossed:

The US just bought up the world's entire three month stock of the one drug that does help with covid-19 ; remdesivir. They and the drug company knew exactly what they were doing, that there would be none for Europe etc.

The price of that will skyrocket now though. And still a nasty thing to do! Takes the breath way and both parties knew that fine well.

I remember that on the news they said that remdesivir cost a couple of thousand pounds per course whereas this other one costs about five pounds. :noidea:

                      On our news yesterday ...

"Infarmed guarantees stocks of Remdesivir for Patients

In response to concerns Infarmed yesterday guaranteed that there is “remdesivir available stock” in Portugal (USA bought almost the entire world reserve for three months)

We can inform you that there is a stock of remdesivir available, according to the allocations that have been made to our country, constituting a first reservation that guarantees immediate access to the medicine”.

The certificate is given by Infarmed that, “after contacting the laboratory that holds the drug, it confirms that it anticipates that there will be no constraint on access to treatment by Portuguese patients” of covid-19."

I heard that the price was low until this deal. I never trust any of these reports; they are all price gouging.

News out now that there is a new strain of swine flu around that has pandemic potential.

Gilead say they will charge $3,120 to US patients with commercial insurance for a five day treatment course. ( rte news Ireland)

Another report has it differently; they can make generic versions but not sell them to Europe as Gilead has the patent.

I think I am in the safest place out here.

And if you have no insurance in the US.

The situation there is tragically out of hand there now. so out of hand now
