What's Looking Good in July 2020

@Upsydaisy I have a lot of different species, without common names, so the binomial names are the only way to differentiate. The names also convey some information about the plant.
It's also the way my mind works.
I cheat as well as I have a data base of my garden plants; where I can look up names and check spellings.
I'm sure you are not beyond learning yours, it's practice and a habit you get into.

I blame the local magpies and reckon that a number of them live in nests of plastic plant labels.

 

Hmmm.... @NigelJ your expectations are pretty high I fear!! I do make an effort with labels..even make my own!!. Somehow though they always seem to go on a wander !! I even have designated book to jot down border plans and names..I start of with great intentions.....but they dwindle some what. Will take some of my old school teachers advice.....'must endeavour to try harder'.

 

@pete Your BoPs are huge in comparison to mine. My leaves are about 2-3 feet and the flowers 3-4 feet tall. Mine bloomed months ago, winter here but probably will get another flush.

 

Mine only flowers once a year, although the flower stems often start to grow in October.
It then goes pretty much dormant until April when they start to grow upwards again.
Tallest flower in the picture is about 6 and a half ft.

 

Mine hasn't flowered this year.

Does your have any winter protection? I couldn't risk mine outside.

 

Yes gets winter protection,don't think it would survive with out it.
Although last winter would be a possible I think.
There is always a difference between survival and flourishing.
Survival alone is not enough

Yes, for the last 10 yrs
