VEGETABLE GROWING 2020

Sorry, got stuck with some overdue work and lost track of messages.
I bought the seeds from Sutton and I am not entirely sure what that specific ones are.. hemm.. embarassing I can't even tell my beans apart

Anyway, could they be Borlotti?
I went reading about Bridgwater beans and they sound like a great crop, but if that is what mine are, Sutton calls them differently on the packaging.

Bean (Mangetout Broad) Seeds - Stereo
Bean (Broad) Seeds - Masterpiece Green Longpod
Bean (Dwarf French) Seeds - Borlotto Firetongue
Bean (Runner) Seeds - Super Trio Mix
Bean (Broad) Seeds - Crimson Flowered

This year is my first for beans, and I planted them in every available spot. I can tell the Mangetout and "masterpiece", but not the others :D

 

I expected the borlotto to be reddish, just like you describe.
Perhaps they can cross pollinate with other varieties?
This year I went for maximum cramming

My wife started collecting the tomatoes, pretty good, I think this is a good year for vegetables in general.

 

My "Arch of Cram" seems to be developing nicely.
Tomatoes, tomatillo, tromboncino trailing on top, patti pan, uchiki kuri, cucumbers and rocket.
Blackberries on top.
I might hang a few MisterQ bottles with radish.
This is probably the best position in the garden, everything I ever planted there seem to grow well. Despite having crammed a lt of edibles in, the arch allows to space them well, so air circulation and insolation seem to be sufficient.
Ants are having their yearly "day of the wings", so they are all over the place.
The cucamelon are starting flowering and fruiting outdoor. They were a big failure last year, so I am very happy.

 

Some more beans. Quite late I guess, but better than nothing, also considered it is my fist time growing them. Next year I will go for less plants, but more spaced and with more support.
Cucamelons are doing ok, even if very slow growing.
Some blackberries are ripe. This year I will stagger collections. Tipically, we would harvest just once or twice, but we end up loosing too many to animals, mold ad over ripening. So next weekend we will make some early jam.
It would be nice to make raspberry jam too, but we are never able to collect enough ripe ones in a single session.
The "californian" pumpkin grows huge, but made only one female flower in two months.. Which I religiously hand pollinated, it seems to be forming a fruit now.
Conversely the japanese pumpkin is very prolific, perhaps too much, I ma not sure that the plant can support that many fruits.

 

Well it's documented that the foxes destroyed most of my veg patch, I've been busy working on the house, neglected veg patch, so I now have an abundant crop of weeds! Still got some Cos lettuce and plenty of green and runner beans. Tomatoes (indoor and outdoor) all doing well, Cucs gone mad.

I'm hoping the new place I purchase will be free of "Onion White Rot" because the one thing I really do want to grow are Kelsae onions (in memory of my late uncle).

Got my eye on a property in Wales, comes with 10" X 8" greenhouse and established veg beds.

 

The Atena Polka F1s are slower but they're producing nicely.

Good idea! Perhaps I will give it a go next year.
I am also trying to clone a few plants, to establish them in sunnier corners of the garden. No luck as for now, but I am sure I will get there eventually.

The first batch is done, next week we should have enough ripe ones for another round.

So, well, I collected anything that looked remotely suitable
