Oops, sorry :love30: Upsy ... it was your photography or most likely my eyes as I missed the Olives till Logan pointed them out! The second photo certainly looks healthy and is a good size. Will you put it in the ground or large pot?

Do you know which variety it is? The one against my house is a bitter small black one but the ones behind us are fat green ones, the same as our friends have here. In the 23 years we have owned this house we have never seen a green olive on the tree against our wall ... and the sodding black things fall down our chimney onto the cooker!

This is it against the kitchen wall ...

Probably keep it in a pot Vicky...sorry forgot to answer your question!! It says that following the 1st frost of winter move it to a cool, light room for it's dormancy period.

@Islander77 ... it is a joke ... we don't have frost where I live in Algarve. Currently we are under a heat warning and fires of any kind are banned in rural areas.. I guess BBQs are okay as most restaurants cook on them. Temp to go to at least 32c today with night lows not below 20c, as it did yesterday.

I have always been a Southern Gal ... born in South Wales, emigrated to Toronto, lived in Alabama for 14 years, lived in Bucks and the IoW before moving here 19 years ago. The only North I have been is Long Island, NY, and Connecticut for 6 years.

Northern Portugal has a lot of rain and snow ... but nice Summers.

Feeling a little smug! And relieved. Small situations can be hard here; I am so used to doing everything myself that perforce relying on others.... An issue re an outgoing parcel and in incoming prescription... however with a couple or three careful phone calls.. one has just left and the other is here. lol

We dug out the bag of clothes that are no longer worn to make some stylish face coverings. We found some very worn flannel pyjamas The Teenager used to love and I had this brilliant idea of making a mascot out of the material. A cute little pink mouse perhants? :wub2:

As it goes, I'm in general not brilliant at many things but for some reason I'm superbly proficient in making mouse's ears. Give me a piece of cloth, scissors and a needle and lo behold, the best ever mouse ears are there. [IMG]

                                ears.jpg

On the downside, I have actually only needed mouse ears once in my life, when making a toy mouse. The rest of the cases ( a carnival bear costume for a toddler, a bunny toy, a fun cat hat for a baby all went well apart from the ears- all had mouse ears. Pretty good mouse ears though. )

In the end, no face coverings got made but the most harrowing mouse mascot (albeit with perfect ears) was created. The Teenager is still in stitches and photographing the vaguely drug addict lookalike mascot around the house.
