Had my knees X rayed two weeks ago.
They said see your doctor for the results in 7 to 10 days.

Rang the doctors this morning 22 times, the line was always busy.
Finally got through at 11am after my first try at 8.30am.
Only to be told, we don't deal with that kind of enquiry in the mornings you will have to call back after 2pm.
I called back at 3pm and asked to speak to a doctor, some time? anytime? about what the xrays showed.
She said what the hospital had written , bla bla bla.
She said if you want to speak to a doctor you need to call before 10.30am tomorrow and you will get a call back.
I said, but I cant get through in the mornings, she said, I know, we are very busy.

I'm just going round in circles with this place, its a nightmare, it was rubbish before this covid thing started and now they have used it as an excuse to basically shut up shop.

I'm just wondering how many people they have killed in the last 4 months.
I'd hate to have anything life threatening and have to rely this bunch of muppets.

Pete I for one can understand how you feel. I have a great love for the medical profession and the police service. However I control myself at all times to remain unbiased.

My GP surgery has become like some kind of mould. It started out like so many surgeries. A couple of rooms in a typical house. The GP in most cases worked alone. Then another GP joined. In many cases the GP wasn't only your doctor, but your friend and basically the family lawyer. Then in the case of my present surgery. Things changed. Suddenly on a waste bit of land, a new surgery was built. All very posh. In a short space of time, the practice accepted another practice that was forced to close due to ownership of the house.

Immediately to get an appointment began to have problems. This new surgery covered a very large estate. Desite the fact that patients had been asked to choose their preferred doctor. Soon it became. Yes, Mr A. We can offer you an appointment at the whatsit practice. NO No. That is too far away, and I wish to consult my preferred doctor.

Now more recently, the practice that has now becom the Sherard Medical Centre. Now plans are to combine with another practice......way out of the area. So, might it become, a simple visit to the docs, a day out, simply to be told. Carry on taking the pills. Make an appointment for six months.

Since the start of the lockdown our surgery have been doing almost all its appointments by phone or video. The doc then decides whether you need to be seen. The appointments work OK but getting through on the phone takes time. At least they have a system that tells you how many people are in front of you in the queue. I put the phone on speaker and carry on working. :blue thumb:

I think the thing I find most annoying is that they keep saying the NHS is open for business.
First thing my doctors did was close the other surgery 3 miles away.
So basically you have twice as many people calling the one surgery, but they still only have one phone line, plus limiting the amount of time you have to call.

They are rationing health care on the quiet, and we are not supposed to notice.

The Bosch shredder I purchased for £169 on the 5th March is now priced at £262. How odd....

I wear a face covering when shopping, am I the only one? If I die from COVID can those I've left behind take action against the shops I've visited or the Murderers blatantly breaking the law?

I could go into more detail but political correctness outlaws that.

When I retired I got a voucher, that my boss gave me as a retirement present, he knew I liked flying so he gave me a half day gliding course at a local gliding club.
Two flights, one with a plane tow and a winch launch and a chance to try the controls

Just got a call from them, I'm booked in for next week.

Things to bring along, mask gloves and some kind of headphones.

They have had to install perspex screens in the gliders so you cant hear what the pilot is saying, not sure what kind of head phones I'm likely to need.

You know me, its all sounding like a bit of a downer, now got to get some gloves from somewhere, not worn gloves since 1963 when it was a bit nippy.;)

I'm not really looking forward to it, oh, and I have to take food and drink as the cafe is closed.

I know they are doing their best, but dont think I'm going to enjoy it much.
