    Sorry, I may not have explained properly. It's the burns that get worse when they've been in contact with water. It can't be treated like an ordinary burn and immersed under a running tap.

    I'd forgotten about beet, that's fed to the animals here, both cattle and sheep.

      A scent of freshly cut hay surrounds me on all sides,..some taken away to the farm leaving an almost empty field.

          @Victoria ,..yes indeed Victoria,..a persons mind can go blank very easily around here,..apart from the wind blowing in the bushes and grass,.. its the sound of Cattle,Crows,Gulls and Swans that one hears,..of course i have to talk to Foxy Molly in order to exercise my vocal cords.

          I can let her go way ahead as there is seldom anyone else about.

            And may it stay that way. There is too much anger in the world and too many people causing it. Peace rules okay.

                  @Sheal ,

                  Hi Sheal,..we have had a lot of very fine drizzle of late but no real heavy rainfall,..i imagine the rise is a mix of rain that has fallen up north plus the dams downriver not allowing water to flow through,..its always a shock to see this starting as it can increase so much that there is hardly any land not flooded in this area..

                    If the dams are holding it back then I would expect someone to be keeping an eye on the upper levels. I don't suppose they give it a thought though.

                      Sheal its the same every year and the powers that be seem like Muppets,..the main dam provides electricity,..that seems to be top priority and not just around here but in other Countries as well.

                      I needed to do some serious shopping today on the far side of the river so i paid a visit to the local park,..just to see where i tend to take my daily walk from afar.

                            Nice pics :blue thumb:

                            Re Meadow Sweet: it was found that the Salicylic Acid derived from it was much more toxic than the older traditional version extracted from willow bark (goes back thousands of years - in my younger days :whistle:). They now produce it chemically. :)

                                The river has dropped quite a few feet but not enough to do a river bank walk,..as the water drops the ground becomes white from Lime in the water.

                                Foxy Molly always dunks her bum in the cool water.
