My large bush of hydrangea has been making me happy since the beginning of July. Last 2 summers it was in full blossom during hot days and a lot of its flowers were burnt. But this summer seems to be good for it as it has been in flowers longer than a month. It's colour is magnificent. So I decided to show it to you to enjoy as well. The third picture shows 2 new hydrangeas from its cuttings. They are in pots. The fourth and the fifth pictures are of my lace cup hydrangeas. They are from cuttings of a blue and white lace cup hydrangea which is not flowering very well this summer. They are gorgeous-they obviously love the Manchester rain.
Ours down south struggle a bit in our drought conditions.

Enjoy those blooms. Mine bloomed early and are now turning brownish (normal for this time of the year here). :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Thank you for your response. Somehow all my plants start flowering later than in other gardens.

Absolutely beautiful colour. I have 10 hydrangeas (mop, paniculata and climbing) and although there are signs of flowers, still not in bloom yet! It's been really cold here in Northern Ireland for nearly two months.

Thank you for your response. I also have a climbing hydrangea which I bought last summer. It has not flowered yet. But my 3 paniculata hydrangeas soon will be in full blossom. My blue mop hydrangea I bought last summer is not big enough with 2 small head of flowers. My blue and white lace cup hydrangea is less successful than usually. My new Diana hydrangea has not flowered yet and I doubt it will flower this summer. This summer in Manchester has not been the best for my hydrangeas. So I am trying to enjoy those ones which managed to become beautiful again.

By the way in spite of all myths about rain in Manchester Manchester is No. 14 in Great Britain as far as rain is concerned.

I'm actually a teensy bit jealous of your blooms because this is what I've got....

Not bad considering that my blooms are spent by this time of the year. I assume that although the mopheads and lacecaps are late blooming, it is normal for them to bloom this late in your area?

Now I just either enjoy the pictures from other persons or I may have to spray the blooms with floral paint when they turn brown. Ha!

I'm fairly new to this gardening malarky. I only started when we bought our present house 5 years ago. But on my visits over to England I started noticing that my plants would always be a month later blooming. Our better weather over here tends to be in September..... when the kids have gone back to school! We didn't have one day of sunshine throughout the whole of July... but that's not unusual.

Oh, Lord. We have mostly hot and sunny days from June through September. Temps usually reach or exceed 37C daily through late August or early September, except when a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico throws a few clouds our way. We can garden until 10-11am and then it is too hot to be outside.

Mopheads and lacecaps will bloom later the further north that one is located.. Down here, I see leaf out in February sometimes. And that triggers early blooms as well.

Dear fellow-gardeners, thank you for your response. I just have one request. It would be nice if you could mention your areas, towns or at least countries in your messages if it is not the UK. Thank you.
                            I live in Manchester, UK.

                            Dear Sandy,
As I understood you live in North Ireland. I think you should be patient with your hydrangeas. They will soon be in full bloom when my hydrangeas already finish flowering. Every area has its own time for different plants to flower. I am not successful with all my plants especially with tropical ones. But I understand that Manchester climate is not as good as Spanish for such plants. The main thing is that your garden makes you happy. Good luck with your plants!
