Well I must admit he hasn't learnt the art of saying the same thing over and over again.
I just think it's better to hear something spontaneous rather than party policy like keeps getting repeated by the professionals .

He did Tweet "the mortality rate of China virus in the U.S. is just about the LOWEST IN THE WORLD" They were his capital letters.

Our friends and family over there say there is a large proportion of the people that don't believe it's dangerous. Our relatives in Texas say that a lot of them in their State say there's no such thing as Covid! As of yesterday there have been 9,304 deaths from it in Texas and 164,000 in the country. Proportionately, we're not a lot better but our rate is going down a lot and theirs is going up.

There you go, atleast he talks his country up.
All our lot do is drag us down
But we do have a world beating track and trace system. :yahoo::whistle:

Not sure if he has gone ahead with the tariffs on Chinese goods, a lot of what he says never comes to fruition.
        Hows the wall coming along?
We could do with one of those along the south coast.

It's going great guns! They've built 93 miles of new wall :blue thumb: but over 90 miles of it just replaced the old barrier :heehee:. Half a mile of new barrier was built by a rancher (two thirds of the border is on private land :rolleyespink:). Not a bad rate of progress - two miles in four years, and mexico hasn't paid their share of it yet. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Now you're retired you can start on it. :dbgrtmb: See whether you can get a grant and I'm happy to give you a hand in writing the proposal. :heehee:

I just watched a news item of the Reporter visiting 10 pubs in ???? (didn't hear where but I think North) and only one asked for details (even though the Reporter asked) and that one was so crowded with non-distancing nor masks they promptly left!

None of this is going to work it's all political posturing.
I think everyone sees the inconsistency of the whole thing from start to finish, or up to now anyway, that they are not going to be messed around much longer.
Next lot of riots won't be black lives matter.

No just bring along your own trowel, I've got a mixer, and I'm sure we could get a few economic migrants to help out, the work force is swelling every day.

Why is it most appliances TVs PCs etc come with a powercable that involves 6ft of 240volt, then a big lump, (presumably transformer) followed by 6 ft of low voltage cable that is stiff and springy and even that has another lump before you plug it in to the appliance.

Surely this could be made more compact, why such a long 240volt part?

Since most of the appliances you mentioned are DC powered, they do need the inverter but the length of the cord, in my mind, the longer the better. Particularly if you're in an older home with only about 3 outlets per room.

Ours only has the one boxy inverter, not a second lump. Maybe because other than ovens or clothes dryers, we run on 110. :noidea:

I would be moaning if everything here ran on 240. I'll play around with 110 but not that!
