Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place?

Moving some bits of furniture round to our daughter's house, including dismantling and getting them down our narrow winding stairs, and reverse at her place.

Any joiners (@pete ) got an idea of how old this bed is, hand made with threaded steel pegs that wind through mortice and tennon joints to connect the rails to the ends?

 

Looks like an MFI one @Scrungee .
I believe they were very popular years ago.

 

MFI 'furniture' was designed intended to be assembled, but not dismantled, apart from using a clubhammer.


Next job is to shift an old armoire, but I need to remove both sashes from a front window and rope it down ladders to get it out. Might as well replace the sash cords whilst they're out.

 

MFI stood for "made for idiots ".
Not suggesting you are an idiot scrungee, just the first thing that came into my head assume it was antique stuff by now.
Good to hear you are keeping busy, it's amazing how one job snowballs.

 

At 12.30pm went to see my dishy dentist for check up, everything was fine, i don't mind going at all.

 

My Dental Surgeon is a dishy "he" too but my regular Dentist is a cutesy "she".

 

Covid wore many disguises as it crept into our lives leaving people emotionally scarred forever.

For me and my family it has been the pain of selling my parents home, having house clearance in for numerous quotes and hearing my parents precious belongings, that told of their life story ,being now referred to as ...lorry loads, manpower and how many tip trips needed!! While all the time Dad was in 'storage' at the Funeral Directors just a few doors down the road from his beloved house!

Today we are finally reuniting him with Mum and together they can now get to share a peaceful and well earned 'happy ever afters' together.

Every part of the process of laying him to rest has met with lengthy waits. Which has just put strain on us all and prolonged the agony of mourning.

Thank you Vicky and @ARMANDII . Very emotional as you can imagine but so glad that my Aunt (his sister) and Uncle could join us today as they couldn't make the actual funeral. Called in on the way home just now and everything is now neat and tidy with the headstone back in place. So glad the rain held off as an hour later we had a short but very heavy downpour.
