The strong wind this morning flattened my runner bean plants. They were still rooted and attached to the canes so a rescue job was needed. I've attached washing line to the tops of the canes at each end of the row and staked them to the ground. Not great, but hopefully without more high winds they'll stay upright.

Well just vacuumed up the leaves from every room,. Want to get out into the greenhouse now but a bit dubious of being in it during such strong winds. Might wait a bit longer.

Morning all! Very windy here today too. Just been making sure my pleached (anti nasty neighbour) trees are secure....dont want them having any breakages!

I'm a bit wary about going into the greenhouse too but I've got stuff to do.

yesterday I had a good little gardening session at the Lincoln bungalow. Deadheaded some bits and then cut the grass front and back and also mowed over the Outside and back of the boundary to get the bits of weed the farmers big machine couldnt/wouldnt get to. I thought if I keep mowing it it'll supress the weeds and then I'm going to spray with "Grazon" a selective weedkiller, to get rid of the bulk of the hogweed etc. (My farmer neighbour down south has advised me how to do it). Then i'll get my scarifier on it and a few weeks later i'll sow the wildflower mix. I may aswell sow it twice (once in spring...as some will grow over winter) and again in april time. It would be so nice to have a wildflower mix on that bit of waste land. And hopefully it'll stop all Our gardens getting covered in weeds so quickly.

today i need to harvest some plum toms from the greenhouse and make tom sauce. I think it's too windy for anything else outside.

I managed to get the new trellis on top of the fence late yesterday afternoon for the jasmine to unleash its magic. It's growing like mad at the moment. :wub2:
Storm overnight and this morning so plants, pots and all sorts had been blown over in the night so cleaned up a little today in between showers. On the upside I've bought lots of bulbs today. Allium purple sensation and lots of different varieties of Daffodils. Got no pesky squirrels here to eat them all
