I don't know why people need to go on holiday at this time, they must be mad.

Seems like a lot more Spikes happening but fewer deaths? Fewer being hospitalised. Is it weakening or are we getting more skilled at treating it?
        Always questions...

I agree Upsy. But if people live here I assume their heart is here. If they want to go to the UK it is for visiting family/friends which, as @Logan rightly says, why do people need to go on holiday at this time?

You would be amazed how many entire British families moved here. Our good friends have their son and family and daughter and family all here, moving here separately over a couple of years. Our other good friends' daughter has bought an apartment here (lives in Hampshire) and they are here at the moment checking out schools for the children. Another friend's sister lives here. I could go on ... and that is just the folk I personally know.

After 4am you can come back off holiday in Portugal and not have to isolate when you get home.
Get back to the UK 1 minute before and you will.

It's not about people wanting to leave Portugal who live there @Victoria.

Yeah fewer deaths,,I assume that the spikes are nothing like how it was a few months ago.
But they are slightly less "in yer face " about it now.
We even get other subjects crop up on the news now. :hapydancsmil:
GCSE being the big one:snooze: now, covid is, atlast, yesterday's news.

It's happening to younger people and they don't get it so bad or they can fight it better and we know how to treat it. Children get it differently, there's been a lot more children getting type one diabetes from it.

The virus does NOT cause diabetes!!

This is from the diabetes.ca website.

"COVID-19 can cause more severe symptoms and complications in some people living with diabetes, the elderly, and those with other chronic conditions such as heart disease & lung disease. It is important to minimize this risk by being proactive with your prevention strategies. "

I knew what you meant Upsy ... and those who came here for holidays knew of the quarantine as we were put on the naughty seat straight away. There are also those who have a home here and one there (as we used to) but again they were aware of the rules. In saying that, I am on a Portuguese forum and boy are some people thick! :hate-shocked:

I just hope the holiday folk coming here obey the rules here ... we are very strict with distancing, masks mandatory in public spaces (buildings etc) but not in restaurants/cafes if you are outdoors but must put them on if you go into building to order or go to the loo. The beaches are controlled/patrolled.

My notebook has been playing silly buggars for sometime, shutting itself down unannnounced but T'other Half fixed it today.
