I made a friend. Our garden is so full of them it's the first thing you hear when you go outside! I love them so I'm happy to share the garden... unless I'm missing something and they aren't good for any reason! I have a close up photo too but it doesn't want to load sorry :) 20200731_180202.jpg

I'm fully aware it's a poor quality photo but any idea what this beauty is? We have a lot of them around here and I have come to the conclusion it's either a buzzard, a kestrel or a hen harrier. Whatever they are, they are beautiful and make a lovely sound. X

It could be a red kyte because of the markings on the under wing.

              A bit of a coincidence :)

This one decided it wanted a closer look at Mrs Shiney

So she put out her hand and it hopped on to it.

I think it's a Buzzard Lizzie and their call sounds mournful. Red Kites have forked tails.

Mournful sounds... aw, it makes me think of them as kind of poetic or something (I can't think of the right word!). Maybe I could identify it by sound... I'll get watching some youtube videos of each bird! Well that's my next Friday night sorted haha x

Thank you. :) I see them along with Kites regularly, so they're not hard to identify.

@Lizzie Rose Mrs Shiney is good with wildlife, especially birds. Doesn't matter to her what it is she just wants to hold it, stroke it or talk to it.
