Shiney your fifth picture is a Canary Winged Parakeet.

 

I wouldn't have a problem with the birds @shiney, my late mum used to breed parakeets. Now tarantula's are a different kettle of fish, they may not be bothered by humans but this human would have been bothered by them, I don't like spiders of any kind. My son spent nine months touring Australia with a resident Redback in his car many years ago. His words were, "if it doesn't bother me, I won't bother it". I wouldn't have got in the car until it was extricated.

Great Blue Heron.

 

This is a Green Heron, but I have never seen so much as one green feather, whoever named it must have been colorblind.

 

Would that be a female hydrogardener and the male has green on it?

 

You are probably correct Sheal, there are so few of them I may have only seen females. They are really difficult to approach and I have only seen birds at one location. The number of times I have even seen one could be counted on one hand, with fingers left over.

 

I've heard a female Tawny Owl calling for the last three evenings. The Long Tailed Tits returned this morning, six came to investigate my currently empty bird station. I feel so mean not putting food out but I must continue this three week shutdown for the sake of the finches.

 

Stonechat, they have had an exceptional breeding year some with three broods.

 

Another North American wader blown off course on it's way to South America, a Pectoral Sandpiper, not particularly colourful but two have turned up here in Wareham. Difficult to see as they were disappearing amongst the reeds.

 

Never seen these before, on an Alder leaf.

30 years ago the Little Egret was an unusual sight in Britain, fast forward to the present and it is seen all over the country. Now the Great Egret is a relatively new coloniser spreading across NW Europe and is now breeding here and in another decade or two hopefully will be seen all over the country.
