I had to laugh at some bright spark on tv this morning.

First he stated that the government have failed on track and test, unlike in other counties.;)

He then went on to state we are heading for the second wave, you only have to look at what has happened in other counties.:roflol:

So nobody learnt from the first time round? I really hope this isn't the start of another onslaught of shelf clearing.

I agree with @Jenny namaste - there are many similarities with flu here, not least that both can be absolutely deadly for some folks. I drew that short straw not so long ago with the flu, and make no bones about it that I am on borrowed time now as I was pretty much clinically dead. The recovery has been slow, unpleasant, frustrating and my life will never be the same - but i am still here and I take a very different view to the one that I had previously, and yes there is a much larger degree of c'est la vie in there now.

No matter what comes at us in the coming days, weeks, months, let me offer these little nuggets.. keep those you love as close as you can, and if that can't be physically, then make sure it is in your heart; keep chatting via the various means available, be it phone, email, Zoom, Teams or even right here; most of all we must all try to stay safe and stay sane -- we are all going to need each other this next six months or so I think.

It has been whipped up by the media running scare stories with suggestions of another lockdown and supermarket deliveries becoming unavailable will lead to panic buying, with them including pictures of empty shelves from back in March in their reports.

So some people have rushed out and started panic buying again, possiby influenceded by fears the EU are going to disrupt food supplies to the UK post Brexit.

No, that's Wandsworth Council London council sparks panic over emergency 'grab and go bag' tweet Oddly, they omitted bog rolls and bread flour from their list.

Same here. I went to Tesco this morning and all the shelves were fully stacked - including toilet rolls and flour. The only gap I saw on shelves was for soluble Paracetamol :noidea:

I have learnt my lesson and booked my tesco weekly groceries deliveries for a month. It's an improvement that I can now do that.

Our means for big shopping is to take a bus, and that's something I'm not willing to do unless necessary. Also, we would have to go twice a week.

I have also taken a good stock on cupboards and plan the shop carefully. Food waste is banned in this household, cooking has become a form of art and my wine cupboard has spread into neighbouring cupboards.

I don't think we'll see as bad hoarding or shortages as in May, but I don't want the stress of delivery slot hunting and unavailable items. There's only so much cabbage one can eat. ;)

Anyways, let's see what we are told today.

Farmfoods had been completely stripped of toilet rolls this morning. Maybe Tesco had plenty because they're twice the cost of those at Farmfoods and lots of people are getting skint.

My rear end is much happier with twice the price rather than nothing at all! Less than a farthing a sheet is OK with me. :heehee:

                        Never heard of Farmfoods! :noidea:

I am not seeing many empty shelves here except for the diet soda pop. I think a lot of it is down to the suppliers? The demand has been like a roller coaster so trying to pace the logistics with it is almost impossible. :dunno:

Took granddaughter for blood tests this morning and as usual since '19 blew in, long waits. I think the wait times are longer now because the doctors are diagnosing "remotely" so they depend on blood tests/other tests to operate their practices. :dunno:
