I do wonder, how much is shall we say the circle of life, but I do agree with the acceloration of man made things have accelorated the effects, but I am a firm believer of you reap what you sow, however I don't believe that becoming vegan or vegaterian will save the world, because intense farming is just that, rather than having cows farting, we are cutting down rain forest, for the sake of palm oil, or exhausting water supplies for almonds and soy, or shipping coconuts etc 1000's of miles by plane, we have the same issue with compost, lets not destroy local peat bogs, for coco fibre that has been fumigated with chemicals, and flown half way round the world, because its enviromentally friendly.
Due to the vastness of the cosmos it is difficult to believe that no life exsists elsewhere. But also, if the 'pin prick' of time that our evolvement is taken into account, then some life forms could evolve and dissapear before we detect them. For instance, say an intelligent ET type alien scans earth in a hundred years time.. Sadly this planet could just be an ash tray and they'll fly on past so to speak. Actually they probably would do now anyway after seeing what a bleedin mess we're making of it.
Numberically, the chances of Life out there was first calculated in the Drake Equation and further thoughts are still in agreement that the odds are that there is Life out there. You see, that's where Scientists and Space fantasy lovers go separate paths, as Scientist hope there is intelligent Life out but haven't yet found evidence, while others want, and assume, that there is intelligent is already here hence the UFO conspiracies etc, that take up so much space on the Net which has the greatest collection, in the Universe, of blurred and fake photos..........but that's another thread subject.
The oddity of man. Life appears greener, the other side of the fence, etc. The universe really is something to marvel at, especially those two heavenly bodies, the sun and the moon. Without them, there would be no us. I at times comment asto how simple minded we, even the most brainiest are when we harbough yearnings and dreams, fantasies and so on. To live on Mars or any other planet. What a dream? Six thousand or millions of years of man's existance. What have we got. Hell on earth. Climate change. That's not a natural thing, no more than dying is. Whatever form of life you consider. There exists a natural if you like, inbuilt self renewal system. We have, as the powers say. We have the power to blow planet earth away. Ice caps are melting at such a rapid rate. No way can we reverse the damge we have done. So as another member mentioned. You/we reap what we have sown.
This is where we benefit so much with a garden. Despite all the bad that's going on, we can create our own little paradise where the troubles of the world can be put on the back burner. The garden is good for us all.
I'd prefer that we do find life elsewhere, but only in microbe form or suchlike. I enjoy watching films like 'Alien' but i can think of little worse than the Klingons turning up lol. Then again, we could discover an alien microbe that has the power to wipe us all out in a fortnight.. Even the microbes here on earth now can be pretty deadly.
Talking of alien life, i see there's a vacancy in south Korea for a border patrol guard.. The north Koreans are close to Klingon mentality
This was always the case for me, until now. For some reason the difficulties of this year have just left me unable to focus on it and the garden has suffered, in fact this year it has been little more than a disaster. There have been one or two stand-out flowers that have thrived more or less independently of anything I've done, but for the most part everything has died or I've just left it to its own devices. In fairness I have become more drawn to wild flowers this year, and took many photos and videos for youtube to showcase the local ecology in spring and summer, but I would normally have been active in the garden and I regret not being so this year. Illness in the family and general stress and worry have converged to prevent it. I keep thinking it would be beneficial to get out there and do some gardening, but no sooner do I step in the garden than I feel the task is beyond me and I abandon it again.
Gardening is a frame of mind . Your plants need you and you should get out there and be nice to them. Treat them well, talk to them nicely and they will reward you with creating a haven of peace.
