I'm not but my girlfriend is twenty five so even if I did disagree with her there would be no escaping. She/we will be ignoring this latest proposed dictat about not returning for christmas.

Which it doesn't. If you haven't used the app to book a text you cannot enter a negative result!

As previously suggested, get Cummings to do it for you!

When my father was young the army blocked off the whole street, in London, for two weeks as his sister had smallpox! This was pre WWI.

Just back peddling a bit, but just wondering what those who have downloaded the app would do should they get a message saying they had been close to someone positive?

Bearing in mind you feel fine and are showing no symptoms.

I have an exemption from mask wearing did to my sinus problem but I do wear one over my mouth. However, if anyone gives me trap over it I produce my exemption and put the mask in my pocket. Covid-Nazis are not welcome.

I see lots of people not wearing masks, but who am I to question.
I understand shop workers now have to wear them also, not sure when that starts but seen some today not wearing them.

Went round a local nursery this morning, hardly anyone there, but they still insist on masks even in the outdoor areas, and the silly one way system.
Got stuck in the greenhouse and had to walk miles to get out.

I could understand it if it was busy, perhaps, but I think I was one of three people in the whole place, outnumbered by staff.

Then they wont accept cash, bit OTT really, no wonder no one was there buying stuff.

Well, Specsavers lost a customer today because of all this rubbish - I arrived for my appointment this morning a bit early; I give myself time for the walk from the car as I am not quick, and in fact had been to another shop on my way there. With no watch, no phone with me and no wallet, I had no idea how early I was I just knew I was in good time. Turns out I was around 25 mins early and the Stazi at the door (greeting me out in the street) couldn't let me in for ten mins at least, so it was back to the car. I returned, and was again greeted in the street and as Mrs C had to go off to put some money in the bank (with the only bank card we had with us) she asked if she could pay for the eye test there and then so she could go off to the bank and then go back to the car as Specsavers would only be allowing me in anyway. The young chap wandered off to ask the question, but this was declined, so I simply asked him to cancel my appointment, said goodbye and walked off toward the car.

Utterly ridiculous situation. What were they going to do once I had the eye test and then had no means to pay? And because of all this 'Keep Left' system in operation (in a bloomin' street!), Mrs C couldn't have even waited outside for me - not that I would have had her waiting there for 45 minutes.

I won't be darkening their door again in a hurry.

This one upsets me. There is a deep recession going on and there are people in genuine financial shino out there. I had to accept £1700 in cash from a customer who could only settle the bill in this way as if he paid the money in it would have been swallowed by his overdraft and he would not have been able to pay. Maybe a GC is not vital but if someone is having a hard time and spending a tenner on their hobby gives them some relief from their worries is that so bad? Card only establishments are a form of social exclusion and whilst we are happy to pay by card where there is a choice we are now boycotting businesses that have a card only policy.

Saw this on the news, its only in England for some strange reason, I think.

All sounds far too complicated to me.

                      Dont like this bit.
If you are asked to self-isolate for 14 days because you have been in close contact with somebody who has tested positive, you are advised by health officials to do so even if you later test negative yourself.

I can't understand why so many people are inconsiderate of others. If they are bored so much let them clean our streets, parks and beaches.

From what I can gather from the moans flying around, it appears that only tests booked through the app can then have results entered - other tests can't despite being done in NHS premises and/or by NHS staff; and then add on folks in England not able to add negative test results and it all smells a bit bad really.

I agree that the self-isolation thing even when negative is either backside covering of the highest order, or they know that the testing is wholly unreliable.
