Male Crab spider just 2/3 mm in length and very difficult to see. , the tiny female looks big compared to this one.

It is an unwelcome guest, and yes they can devastate a garden. I found that if you pour a little ammonia in the entrance of their borrow each day they will soon vacate to a more hospitable environment, probably my neighbor's yard. :nonofinger:

I lost count of the number of (Italian) Wall lizards at Ventnor Botanical Gardens, they were all over the rockery areas.

I think I've got something "interesting" in my Wildlife pond, as when I went to just do my weekly check on it I disturbed something when I moved a large pot of marginals in the water. There was quite a large swell of water right in front of me and then a mass of bubbles about 18" X 18" came up......and that, having watched them over the years, ain't no Frog:nonofinger:. I sat on the bench by the pool for around 20 minutes but nothing came to the surface so whatever it was/is can hold it's breath for a good while.:dunno: I'll put a Wildlife trap camera up tomorrow and see if I can capture some images.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Interesting @ARMANDII, very interesting :). What do you think it could be?

I'm not sure, lucius, to be honest:dunno: The size of the swell/bulge in water caught me by surprise particularly as it was right in front of me, and the mass of bubbles that came up and kept coming up was a bit of a shock. I'll put the Wildlife camera up today and see if I can get anything. I've sat every day for a while by the pond since I built it in '93, I wade in it every year to keep it clean and the Frogs will sit around and watch me so I know enough to know what is a Frog and what isn't:dunno: I'm wondering if it is a Grass Snake:scratch:, but hoping it's not a Great White or a Croc:dunno::hate-shocked::heehee:

Grass snakes have hibernated now so I don't think it would be one. Water Vole possibly but I think you would have seen it before now and they prefer streams. Hope you can shed more light on it via a camera.
