Cleaned out and bleached the conservatory getting ready to bring in some tender palms etc.
Started to re erect a 20 year old Robinsons greenhouse single handed. Battle recommences in the a.m. :paladin:

Went on the lotty to dig out plants for new lotty design (raised beds are rotten!) and I've ended up clearing and dismantling it. Just about to go back and dismantle the third one and take all the rotten wood to go on my neighbours bonfire this arvo.

I'm going to carry on transplanting out there.

I moved the umbrella clothes dryer to near the end of the raised bed in the middle of the lawn and for obvious reasons, don't want to have anything under it that grow very high. The dryer has a 10 foot span so lots of room for low growers. I had originally put the rhubarb in a spot along the side fence but it doesn't appear happy there so I moved it over to the back of the "dryer" bed. Unfortunately I unintentionally divided it at the same time so I'll have to wait until next spring to see what survives. I do know that it is suggested that moving rhubarb should be done in the spring but being an impetuous person, I couldn't wait!

I've planted the asters and put the allium bulbs into a raised garden that runs below and along the back deck. And moved the surviving primula to the front edge of this bed to add colours other than purple to the bed.

I moved several clumps of chives and dug up and potted some flowers with hopes I can overwinter them in the cellar.

I have all of my anenome bulbs to plant but the spot under and around the dryer has tomatoes that haven't ripened yet so I will have to wait. I've read that soaking the bulbs for 2 hours before planting is recommended. Anyone else do this?

I've been trying to collect zinnia seeds but mine don't look like the ones in the online videos so I may have to buy more of those next year.

And I've made a proper list all the seeds I feel that I've successfully collected and those left in purchased packages.

And all the while I'm doing this, Sam is baking soil and refilling pots for next year :)

I actually got to my patch for an hour today...before the heavy rainfall again. Collected up a load of leaves and fallen branches, added them to one of my beds, covered over with cardboard and fleece! Hoping that'll put me in good stead next spring. One bed down...many more to go (weather permitting):fingers crossed:

I soaked my anenome bulbs for about this length of time too! I have read that they should have an overnight soak though? :th scifD36:

After a few days confined to barracks due to torrential rain, today it was dry so I cut the grass....

Planted some Meyer Lemon and some Kaffir Lime pips ... but don't hold out hope for success, just getting rid of some seeds.

I had a delivery of some Echinacea, Leucanthemums, Hollyhocks in 9cm pots this afternoon. So I mixed some compost, sand, potting grit, and a handful of Blood, Fish, and Bonemeal into a 15 litre bucket and potted on the plants into 1 litre pots ready for planting in the coming Spring.
I've also got two to three hundred Tulip bulbs to plant but I'll wait until November comes and plant them then. There's about 30 or 40 Daffodils waiting to be planted but I'll either do that in a dry evening or wait until the weekend. There's a good amount of rain forecast for tonight and throughout the night and early morning so, as the compost in the bucket was already damp, I've left the newly arrived pots to be watered by Nature.:dunno::heehee:

Love and Cat are not two words I would use in the same sentence. I'm not a cat person and would not have another one. Nothing wrong with his diet, he says grain free, high meat food ( very expensive ). It's never happened before. He's trying to ingratiate himself back into my good books now, wants lots of cuddles and adopts a soppy expression, weird eyes :loll:

Still :rain: and :rain: and :rain: at the moment. In between it has been too wet to do anything in the garden. I did start sorting out the patio container bed but didn't get very far. Keep changing my mind about what to do with it.

After the usual harvesting of beans, courgettes, rhubarb (all three are on their last legs now) and apples I decided to have a gentle go at the patio.

We recently had the patio extended and completely repoints (took them three weeks :rolleyespink:) I was told to wait at least a month before pressure washing. We had to remove 120 pots of plants and the slabs under them were covered in mould and dirt. These were some of the pots
                          P1490225.JPG

Apart from them needing a lot of hard work pressure hosing them the whole patio had a fine film of concrete and sand dust. The workmen swept and hosed everything but it couldn't clear it all.

I'm now, carefully, pressuring the worst of the mould whilst taking care not to get too close to the pointing. The rest of the patio is getting a light pressuring to remove the sand and concrete dust without the jet getting close to the paving. When it's all done and the weather is set to be dry for at least 24 hours I shall spray it with Wet and Forget. That is a slow acting, plant friendly, mould etc. remover. It will take all winter for it to work properly and should keep it good for well over a year.

I did two and a half hours of hard work with it yesterday - controlling the nozzle to keep it away from the pointing is quite tense work - and my old muscles are suffering :old:. I'll wait a few days before carrying on - assuming the boss lets me :heehee:. At least it looks somewhat better now as I've also been doing the area close to the new paving which had made the paving alongside look terrible. The new paving was a whole pallet - about 200 sq ft. :rolleyespink:

Take it easy @shiney Jet washing it hard work. You've just reminded me its Wet and Forget time. Luckily I've got two big bottles of it ready in the shed.

Yesterday I spent the whole day on the lotty again. Tried to unscrew the metal corners to reuse but has proven extremely difficult to get screws out even with a drill.

I cleared one smaller bed and dug out the worst bed which was full of raspberry cains etc. It was also full of red ants and I've got two huge bites on the back of my wrist. I hate red ants!

                            36659CA8-F737-46AB-9ADD-C480907895C1.jpeg

I marked out where the new beds are going so I could work out where I need to dig all the bed out. The digging out the soil is such hard work.

I worked out that to the right of the shed, which will have guttering, I can fit a 1000ltr IBC tank! That will sort out the water issues up there for me(due to the nasty neighbour stealing all the communal well water for her plant business).

Thanks @Snorky85 :grphg: I took a couple of hour's break inbetween sessions :). I'm usually fairly careful nowadays to take breaks. That way I get by without too much back and neck problems but the hands tend to seize up round the trigger :rolleyespink:. Don't know what it's going to be like when I get old! :old: :heehee:

Not doing anything in the garden today it's raining again.

Yesterday deadheaded the roses and pruned them a bit.
