    On the big updates like that one, there is a folder Windows.old that is HUGE and it does not get deleted with the ordinary clean up - - you have to specifically select it in cleanup for it to be removed. Having that still there will drag the life out of any machine to be honest.

        I have a clear out from time to time, I sold two Antique hand crank Singer sewing machines last week, both of them were broken on arrival.
        these were cast iron, UPS did what two world wars and Hitler could not do.

        Pictures were sent to me by the buyer, as usual the courier is not going to pay out compensation even though I paid the damage in transit insurance for them, its not the first time this has happened with items I have sent by couriers, but what else can you do.

          Surely the buyer would normally refused the parcel if it showed signs of damage.

            @Mike Allen

            Many of the parcels I receive show signs of damage but the contents are not always damaged.

            Couriers will more often than not leave the parcel at my front door, ring the bell and drive off in my case or at a safe and convenient drop off point for others without the contents of the parcel being inspected even before the out break of covid19 and social distancing.

            Also, if the parcel needs a signature the parcel is not legally yours and cannot be handed to you by the driver until you have signed for it at which time the driver has gone.

            With all the damaged parcels in the care of the driver I think he would have an impossible task getting all of their days deliveries done if all the damaged parcels contents were inspected whilst the driver had to wait.

              Hi @weedaway ..Your horrid neighbour situation has disturbed me a lot, and I really am so sorry for you.:sad:

              Have you considered approaching things from a different angle....that of protecting vulnerable children ? If you raise a concern with OFSTED then they are required to look into matters.

              All ( legal !!) child care and education providers are required by law to be registered with them. Providers are legally bound to work by the high standards set by OFSTED and this they have had to have agree upon to finalise their registration.

              Sooooo....my suggestion is that you make a complaint to them detailing all your evidence and saying that with such abusive behaviour and equally abusive and disgusting language you have concerns about the the environment that they are providing for the children and their lack of moral standards that undoubtedly the children will pick up on.

              OFSTED may find the need for themselves to involve the police. Where children are involved...nobody takes chances.

              It maybe a way to get the situation investigated once and for all..

              Just a thought !

                thank you @Fat Controller . It is being a complete bear but I believe I did manage it. When I went to properties for the drive, and hit disk cleanup - it did not respond. So I decided to pretend I was insane and try that a few more times. Then I tried going down to windows management tools and hit disk cleanup there. And it wouldn't respond. So, I did a search in all the files for something that would activate it and I forget which of the buttons I pummelled but I finally got where I wanted. Seems to no longer be there. And then just to be sure, I de-fragmented the disk so it can't sneak out from under some other dark place! :dbgrtmb:

                Today's moan. Why is it so hard to get turkey fat stains out of white cloth napkins! :doh:

                  Oh my God!!!.....words fail me!!!:yikes: :mute::confused::shocked:
                  Gagging order or not I would contact my MP, Local Radio and a National Paper.....they will be more that willing to expose wrong doings. The more the public are made aware the less the Police can cover up!.....in my humble opinion.

                  I would fight until the bitter end..

                    So very sad and so unbelievable in this day and age......what is our world coming to!!

                    I can't even begin to imagine what your life must be like.....how you've stood your ground and not given in and moved away truly amazes me.

                      Admittedly I'm a layman with respect to the law, but I fail to see how any gagging order can prevent you from reporting a crime to the police.
