This time the lock down is really starting to grate :th scifD36:. Sunny/warm weather made the first lockdown more bearable - there were plenty of things to do in the garden - but the constant rain and the cold makes a world of difference.

We're slowly being driven bonkers :wallbanging: - can't wait for the 9th when we can go out again :blue thumb:.

We've just started our second lockdown here in France. Luckily, here in the SW we're having lovely weather....may it last for a month! It does seem a tad illogical that the schools are remaining open this time. If there's one place that is a breeding ground for every bug going, I'd have guessed that a school is top of the list!

Not often that I have a moan but the last two hours have been frustrating as while making a purchase on line, by Debit Card, the payment was questioned followed by an automated phone call from the Halifax Fraud Team asking me to ring a number but unfortunately the call cut off before the number was given. I then had to find their number online and on phoning them got the usual press this, press that, press this, press that button:doh:, followed by a message that it could be 10 minutes, or more, before getting a person to talk to:gaah:
When I did eventually get through and explained what had happened the Advisor asked me for my Security Number. I asked "what Security Number?" and she said "The letter that we sent you over two years ago gave you a Security Number". So I said "You want me to remember a number from two years ago of a letter of which I don't even remember?:doh:"........which was followed by a silence from the other end of the phone. As an alternative I was asked a series of questions regarding payments into my account and who had paid them last month........so not having the details to hand I was reduced to guessing:wallbanging:
Eventually, when she was convinced I was who I said I was she asked if I had had a SMS message from them......."well, no, but I did tell you I have had an automated call from you asking me to ring you"......silence again, and then "Okay, I'll make out a form and pass it onto my colleague and put your phone onto his...............which ended with 15 minutes of ring, ring, ring, "please stay on the line, ring, ring, ring:wallbanging:, before, after another 15 minutes, it was answered. I then had to explain the whole situation again, was asked some more security questions, etc, before my Debit card was cleared but told to wait about 10 minutes before I could try to complete my original purchase.
Then I went back to the Computer...........only to find the Net connection had gone down:wallbanging::gaah::gaah:...........which took a lot of checking of connections and retrying until after about another 30 minutes I got back online, made the purchase, and reached for my Mug of Tea.:coffee:

The Welsh Government reckon that the virus is spreading rapidly here because different households are sitting down together in the cafe and talking to each other. I suppose that the act of talking releases the virus into the air and Bobs your uncle.

Everyone is now on edge waiting to see what Mark says this Monday - he is telling us what we will have to do after the 9th November.

He has already said that pubs, cafes and non-essential shops will open and that local lockdowns don't work very well. Whatever he says will cover the whole of Wales.

I wish everyone would follow the rules - I'm not sure how many more lockdowns I can cope with - I'm the sort of person who needs to get out and about and see other people. I'm praying that a vaccine or effective treatment arrives sooner rather than later.

The Police in Manchester have reported over 400 house parties and one large party in the City centre where the organiser was given a £10,000 fine.:hate-shocked:
