The usual old garbage - loads of graphs to scare folk witless, then announced (more or less) lockdown from Thursday; but a half arsed lockdown as you can still go to work, still go shopping, schools and universities are open.... but you are not allowed to have anyone from another household in yours, pubs and hospitality are to close.... basically, not allowed any fun, and putting a few million folk out of work and probably out of their homes.

Apart from a few differences, we’re back to where we were in March, thanks to those folks that didn’t think the rules applied to them.

Oh well sounds like I can carry on as normal then.
I never did get the 6 people thing anyway, it never made any sense at all.
              Nothing about banning fireworks then?

Do you really think that Freddy, I think we are going to end up like this all the time the way its going, if you don't virtually eradicate it then every time you ease up we will be back to square one.
And to be honest keeping schools and universities open it makes me wonder if it will work at all this time round.
Lets face it, it was only after they went back that things started going downhill again.

Do I really think that? Yes. I would turn that around and ask you if you think folks followed the rules we’d be where we are now? It’s clear to me, that since the younger amongst realise they are unlikely to suffer greatly, they aren’t that bothered about following the rules/guidance (I won’t bore you with links to illustrate). That’s not to say though that age is a barrier to stupidity. Whilst I realise that us ‘humans’ are a gregarious bunch, these are not times to carry on as normal.
If I had my way, we’d shut everything down, everything. I don’t though envy the governments position having to make these decisions. Easy to be an armchair critic when one doesn’t have the weight of responsibility. I thought Chris Whitty made a good point when he said there weren’t any easy solutions to this, only bad.
It’s my view that we have to put our trust in the science. I can only assume those that don’t won’t be taking up the offer of the vaccine, when/if it comes.

I agree Freddy,......... plus looking at pics at my local football, almost everyone in the pics is not social distancing, all huddled together. The Government have asked us all to abide by the rules, many won't so they are forced to bring in further measures...........What else can they do?

Well, the Leaders can put in as many lockdowns/restrictions backed by the Scientists as they like
but it only takes a few people who think COVID 19 is a hoax, or doesn't exist, or think they won't catch it, think only of themselves, and don't give a damn for it and so ignore the rules, to come back strongly again and again. I don't think we can blame or point the finger at any age group as there are those of the aforementioned mind set in all the age groups.
The vaccines are not the Silver Bullet that people would like them to be as recent tests show that the production of anti-bodies isn't as good as first thought or that they're as long lasting. I think it's going to be a long, hard, repetitious road until we convince the sceptic and selfish that they have to stay within the Lockdown restrictions.........and what are the odds on that?:doh:

Well all I can say is that pubs and restaurants were open back in the summer, but it wasn't until universities and schools went back that things nose dived.
So if you want to blame a certain section of society, who tends to be less affected, and cant work out what all the fuss is about then that's fine.;)
But just put yourself in their shoes.

If you think you are susceptible, by all means, "lock yourself down", but dont expect everyone else to follow you.
Some people have to earn a living.

And while doing so stand a chance of contracting COVID19 and dying or passing it on for someone else to fall ill or die. There's some personal hard choices that have been made this year and will have to be made again but walking down your own path, regardless of others, went out of the window when COVID 19 arrived.

Ok, so lets stop all private and state pension payments until covid is beaten, and divert all that money to paying furlough to people whose jobs don't actually exist anymore.;)
