New member signing in! I’m on ‘gardening’ Twitter but I’m not enjoying the twitter experience (can’t escape from the real world!) so thought I’d try a be social on here! I have a south facing garden with a loam soil. Overall the style of the garden is ‘cottage’ with a formal area near the house that gets wilder as you go down the garden. I try to encourage and help wildlife where I can - trying to keep a balance I guess. Anyway, nice to ‘meet’ you all and I look forward to chatting soon.

Hi Kitty, welcome to Gardeners Corner:love30::thumbsup: You'll still find the "real world" here on GC but I think we're more relaxed, friendlier, passionate about gardening, and with a touch of humour.
I too have a Cottage style garden but possibly less organised than yours:love30: What, by the way, is Twitter?.......I thought it was only could be used by one person in the White House:dunno::doh:

Hi Armandii, thank you for the welcome! I’m looking forward to it. Not really done forums before so I will have a good look around and try a get a feel for it.

You’re best off not knowing what it is :rolleyespink:

Hi Kitty. Your garden looks nice :dbgrtmb:. My advice is to have a good rummage around the 'Gallery' section - some gorgeous pictures and there might be a few ideas on there that you would like to replicate in your own garden. See you around the forums .

Hi Perki, Thank you! Well. It seems I don’t take many pictures beyond the arch! But through there you will find a lawn, greenhouse, a corner of chaos - where everything gets dumped (as you can see), right at the end is a wilder area where I leave nettles twigs etc. And finally, a couple of raised beds which used to be four, but rot had set in so during the first lockdown I took the rotten bits out and reassembled into two and grew veg.

we have rodents of some sort - voles I think (Double edged sword - a joy to watch but they chop down one of my favourite flowers), lots of birds, and bees and butterfly numbers were up this year. Although that could have been due to the fact that I noticed them more as I was at home ALOT!

Thanks Sheal. It doesn’t always look good - it peaks in spring but in mid/late summer, well, it starts to look sparse and lacks colour - and this year it looked very dry . I added dahlias last year and Salvias this year and that has helped. It’s been an 11 year, ever evolving project.
