That is bloomin awful. What a bunch of selfish idiots. The poor police! They should have sprayed water from fire engines into the warehouse-that would have got rid of them. Disgraceful.

The White House? what has it got to do with the White House?
Its about people just being people and doing what comes naturally.
The majority of people know none of what is going on is going to get rid of the virus, and its the same old story, "it will never happen to me".
Its the same thing that gets you into the car every morning to go to work, if you were told you were going to crash and burn you wouldn't do it.
All things in life are a gamble.

Most people hope they get a mild dose, and most think they are probably going to get it at some point anyway none think that they are going to die.
And neither do any of us when we get in the car, fly in a plane, or even cross the road.

:roflol: @ the first bit. But....the EU does still have open borders, allowing member states' residents free movement! Normally. Personally, I think the EU governments should have been much quicker and stricter on frontier closure, the first time around.

Don't UK Garden centres sell pet food and accessories? Over here, that exempts them from closure.

Not, unfortunately, the ones around here in Cheshire, noisette. We have Pet Superstores and also Stores like Morrisons, Tesco, Aldi, etc sell such things. Most Garden Centres and Nurseries just sell plants and gardening accessories. There are some that go under the pseudonym of Garden Centre where they have a relatively small garden centre as an afterthought. I think Percy Throwers, (remember him?:heehee:), Garden Centre in Shropshire is an example of a loose interpretation of a Garden Centre.
                upload_2020-11-1_19-10-11.jpeg

I visited the original Garden Centre, many Moons ago, and it has now been demolished and was replaced by a shiny Palace of Glass and, should you visit it, you will find inside small units selling clothes, shoes, cooking equipment, Pets, garden furniture etc, .........and tucked at the side is a outside space where they sell plants as a sideline. I'm not sure if Percy would have been pleased
about the way things are. So, yes, there are places that already use gardening as a lead in but actually make their monies from other businesses inside the building.
What I'm thinking of are those Plant Nurseries that actually are solely Plant and Garden Accessories Centres.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Most around here have a pet department, often not run by the garden centre but usually inside the same building.
Not really sure how that stands up in the lockdown rules as to open the pet department you have to open the garden centre.
I guess you could do what they did in supermarkets in Wales, section areas off so you couldn't buy stuff in that area, but I doubt they would want to open the whole place up just for the pet shop.

Poor Percy! He must be spinning in his planting hole :yikes: That's the advantage of living in a country obsessed by food....as long as all you want to buy are food plants, fruit trees etc. it's business as usual

Even the tools he used were like the ones royalty use when planting a tree.

And the soil was like potting compost.
