Obviously that mink coat you were buying for Christmas for Mrs F will have to wait now, it is a worry, I mean it will have to be diamonds now.

Mink farming should have stopped years ago, lets hope this puts them out of business.

Totally agree, a barbaric industry. I feel terrible about the animals about to be culled, but they were going to be killed anyway so in a way this will liberate them from the misery of existence on a mink farm. Hopefully as you say it will soon be a thing of the past.

I can't stomach the thought of any animal being bred for its fur, most leather is different due to it being a byproduct. When's the last time you saw someone wearing a mink coat on a regular basis, perhaps some coat owners do but I suspect they're outliers.

Do you remember the days when some women used to go about with a dead fox draped over their shoulder. Us kids would get close behind and start. "Hey Mister Foxy" The adorned, 'Lady? would display her true character. " Sod off".

Dad used to breed rabbits for the table. Then one day he was asked if he'd like to sell the skins. This I class similar to the use of leather etc.

Not wishing to be.....over dramatic. I recently had my pre-op assessemnt. Surgery expected in a few days. Now Covid has sprung up again. So my op and many others are put on hold. Fair do's. My cancer is for the time being contained. However should the cancer cells break through the protective wall. Then my admonem will be flooded and the cancer will be in top speed. So the outlook will be. Possible. Lights out and. Goodnight Vienna. OK a bit of a rough deal. Nevermind. I've had my day, 81 come Decenber. This must show up some lack of forward planning with the NHS.

Exclusive: 'Covid graphs were wrong in suggesting daily deaths would soon surpass first wave'

In case anybody's confused about those graphs being discussed in the media, Sir Patrick Vallance [Chief Scientific Advisor] said he regretted if he did not make it clear that the scenarios were models rather than projections and not as reliable as forecasts.

And so much for all the other experts who criticised the graphs of rising Covid-19 death rates initially released by Government as being full of technical errors, and couldn't even spot that the wrong ones had been published, so much for their 'expertise'.

Personally, I would have expected the graph to have the timescale extended far enough to show a sharp increase in deaths at the point when the NHS became overwhelmed and couldn't treat everybody who required hospitalization.

                  My mother had one.

I have one now, a short coat to the hips, the colour of my hair, bought late 70s/early 80s, can't bear to part with it.

I agree with rabbit fur equal to leather. I find people hypocritical who disagree with fur but wear leather shoes or carry a leather handbag. I am against wild animal skins being used but I am also against minks being bred for skins. As much as I can I only use toiletries not tested on animals.

There is a big difference between animal skins used from food animals and animals that are raised only for their skins. In some way leather is using a by product, and if you kill a cow you should use all parts of it.
I draw the line at eating tripe though.

                        Extract from local rag:

North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner fears there will be an influx of people flocking across the border into North Wales on shopping trips and days out in an attempt to escape the national lockdown in England.

He's right - it will happen. We'll just have to stay away from any shops that are close to the English border.

What sort of non-essential stuff will the police need to stop the English from buying in North Wales?
