What Jobs Are We Doing In The Garden Today 2020

Yesterday was all day and quite mild, lots of bird songs and even a Red Admiral fluttering about. Busy with decorating and resin stuff so had to choose between a walk or the garden. The walk won . We saw a Little Auk fishing for lunch . Today has been a mixture of sunny spells, so had a bike ride. Garden time next week ??? .

 

I can't move...I'm exhausted....went on a bike ride and then we carried on at the lotty. Shifted loads more mud and put the two long raised beds in. It's all taking shape now.

The beds above are first class Snorky.
Leaves today, its nice and mild so no excuses for being indoors. We are allowed out here in Mid Wales so it will be tempting to go for a look in the sea. My favourite town, Shrewsbury, is out of bounds.

 

the two on the left are 2.4m x 1.2m.
The two on the right are 0.8x3.6M

the long one closest to the shed is going to be made into half raised bed and half cold frame-just need to finish off the centre bit that will divide them. I wasnt sure how much cold frame space I wanted at first.

thanks Hans, that kind of you to say. They need another coat of the cuprinol (although it was only supposed to be one coat spray). But the timber has been pressure treated also.

just heading back there now to get shovelling the mud.

 

@snorkey the beds look great.

Not doing anything in the garden today it's raining.

 

We didn’t do that much yesterday, as hubby was not feeling 100%, but we did plant lots and lots of bulbs, so some should survive the winter, mice, squirrels and foxes! (Three different types of daffodils, and two different varieties of tulip).

I’m now sitting here, wondering what else I can find to do to put off going down and turning the three compost bays!!

It's been drizzle all day on and off but tomorrow I should be able to tidy up the back garden.

 

Emptied the builders sack load of soil back into the new raised beds and did a trip to the tip to get rid of all the old rotten sleepers etc.

I'm tired out AGAIN.

 

Pulled up the cosmos and planted the last of the tulips and some more wallflowers.

 

Was up on the lotty again. I laid fleece/weed suppressant along the path and re-laid the stones. I moved the compost bin into its new position which meant all the compost got turned. I added some water to it as some of it was bone dry.

Dave had some free time so he finished off dividing the raised bed into a cold frame. He's just got to make the cold frame lid and make me one more slim raised bed.

I've levelled off the area next to the shed for an IBC tank.

I've got a few buckets of sloppy clay to get rid of some how and need to get some fresh stones to top up the path etc.

i cant wait to get some new compost added and get planting some garlic etc
