Oh and the outlook from the garden now with the tree gone. It took a while to get used to the new vista without it.

I took these last month...a view I never get tired of.

Thank you Philip. :) Much of the landscape here is owned by Lovat Estates originally accumulated by the Fraser clan many centuries ago. At that point the Frasers owned hundreds of square miles stretching from Argyll up here to the Highlands. Some has been sold off since those times (including the plot my bungalow stands on) and I don't know exactly how much is owned by them now.

          Lovely view. :dbgrtmb:

When you ran the land drains did you add a soakaway at the end of them to take any excess? As the flow is downhill there's a possibility that the flow may be too quick at times to seep out as it runs. Although I suppose it wouldn't really matter too much if the field isn't used much.

It is coming along nicely Sheal and good you have 'A' to help with the tough stuff ... I think we females need it when the other half can't won't do certain things. I have had Ben the Gardener for several years now.

I had somehow missed the car turning space and that is a bonus. Your views are stunning, especially this time of year.

@shiney the pump we have moves the liquid from the solids tank to the other two, from there on it works via gravity so the drainage is slower. The perforated pipe will disperse most of it before it reaches the end and with sandy loam for soil it will drink it like a fish!

We have the opposite problem with heavy clay. It doesn't want to soak away anywhere :rolleyespink:

Thank you @wiseowl. :) Believe it or not there are two minor roads running through those trees, and you're more than welcome to come and take a walk. It's a bit of a trek getting here though.

Thank you too @Snorky85 and @Upsydaisy. :) It's coming together slowly and I will continue to update this thread.

Thank you @Victoria . Mr S is neither a gardener or a diy man unfortunately, not interested in the first and not capable of the second, but he does do the heavy lifting around the garden that I can't manage. I was reared in a family with four males so couldn't fail to learn diy skills. :)
