Clearly not..... I now assume that you were joking about the terms being for the avoidance of doubt?

Avoidance of doubt is one thing, bad language is another. Is bad language now ok? If bad language is now ok, this ain’t a place for me.

This place, Freddy, is the place for you and everyone will agree with me on that:love30:. Let's not let the overspill from the previous posts cause problems among friends.

Of course it is the place for you - just be careful you don't prick your finger on any roses.

Don’t get me wrong, I hold this place in high regard, you know that. But, I draw the line when it comes to bad language. It’s not the first time that FC has used this term. AFAIC, it’s indefensible, especially for a MOD. There’s no need for it, and it probably breeches the rules.

I think you will find there is language and there is LANGUAGE, the kind you dont use in public.
In recent years what used to be considered bad language has changed and a lot of it has become pretty much well used.

It is not a word that is banned by the profanity filter, unlike many others that could have been used and most likely would be used in other corners of the internet. As I said, I fully uphold your right to take offence at any word or statement by myself of anyone else for that matter; however, your right to feel offended is no different to my right to offend.

Its a pity political threads always cause falling outs on forums.
Ive noticed over the years posters at times are quite willing to throw barbed comments at others and then at other times the same posters act the victim that crave hugs from others.
(This isnt aimed at anyone in particular btw)
Maybe it would be better to limit threads to gardening ?

Again, for the avoidance of doubt here @WeeTam, there is no falling out on my behalf - I happen to think a lot of @Freddy, and I am fairly sure that he knows that (if not, he does now!), however I also hold dear my own right to express my opinion.

@ThePlantAssassin see what you started, you naughty boy!:rolleyespink:

And everyone getting all excited about the issue when most here are an ocean away from the US. I live next door and as I've said before, we've dealt with the tantrums, threats, indifference, etc of various presidents and most of us just shrug our shoulders and wait to see what nonsense comes next. The US hijinks don't very deeply or for long term, affect our day to day lives.

Everyone, please have a chill pill and relax. Unless your money is in Maralago, it's just another bump in the road :)

Well, I'm genuinely confused by all this. I thought we weren't supposed to use "profane language" here. But how are we supposed to interpret this? I'm assuming the F and C words aren't permitted, but the word Fat Controller used? No idea! :dunno: It seems rather odd that the variant of "crapshow" I used was censored the other day but the term used recently is fine!
