Yes Shiney, i did have you in mind! Nothing wrong with having a huge country estate.
.. I'll be going down to see my gatehouse chappie after lunch to see if he's mended the deer fence as I'd instructed.

Scientist developing a Covid 19 vaccine said on the beeb today - "It's not a race to get the first vaccine out". Well Sir, it is just that, because people are dying. What a massive throbbing numpty :th scifD36:.

Just had a 'Provident' leaflet pushed through our letterbox with all the other rubbish that we're getting all too regularly.
But this leaflet is outrageous.. They are offering loans at 535.3% APR.
I'm not making that number up, it's not 15%, it's not even 53.5%
            It's 535.3%!!
Unbelievable that this offer is legally allowed.

I worked for Provident very many years ago, the APR was no where near that then.
We did pay agents to call on customers each week, they were paid commission.

I worked in the local office, did have to go on some 'Rounds' after the office work, nice long day, 8am to around 10pm.

He meant its not a race to be first, and they are not cutting corners that might make it unsafe.

The point was that different types of vaccine will be required as some will be more suitable than others for different reasons.

So the first past the post will not get all the trade, the ones that come second and third etc. will still be useful.

I have read offers by other ruthless companies. So sad that many a person who has fallen on hard times gets duped into signing on the dotted line. Also these scammers who fool people especially the old and perhaps less attentive, to part with their money.

Totally agree. my local council had our/my place rewired. Great for safty reasons, but then. In the bathroom/lav, a fluo tube lite. So in the middle of the night you need to puke up. Opening the door and tugging on the pull cord, up it all comes and then the light comes on....OOOOOOOps. Add to this you no longer get a white light.

Surely not a bulb connected to the internet. :rolleyespink:

Yes we have a few eco dots, and we ask her to turn off or on light and a lot of other things.

Yes. They can be controlled through your phone or through things like Alexa :noidea:.

The trouble is that you and I are dinosaurs :old: :heehee:

One of my cousins is a tech freak. He has seven Alexas around his house and has 117 'smart ' connections :hate-shocked:. He can control everything by his voice. Lights (lots of different circuits), TV, music, kitchen appliances, domestic appliances, outside cameras (doorbell etc.), garage door, turn his car on to warm up - and many more. He lives in an ordinary semi.

I actually use my fingers to turn on the lights :yikes: :dunno:
