Well managed to get the table apart with a little help from hubby as the glass weighed a ton, we have bubble wrapped it up now.

Lori so glad Sam has made it through the night, you must be both so worried, big hugs chucks :grphg:

@Flumpy I'm so glad you got through the dismantling without hurting yourself.

@Victoria :yikes::yikes::yikes: I was horrified to read about the terrible procedures you had to endure. And you're back to driving your lovely convertible and those low slung vehicles need good coordination/muscle strength to board and exit. Amazing :love30:

            Aloha everyone,

I'm not sure what I shall be doing today. I did say that I would start going through all my old photos (non-digital) with the intention of dumping most of them. I guess we have between 5,000 and 10,000 (yes, I know it's a big difference ) and started at 2.30 this morning. It's not working out very well  The first bag I started on has a lot of family and friends photos that would need Mrs Shiney's opinion as well. I've found some others in that bag that are holiday or garden photos. Most can go but Mrs Shiney wants me to keep to one side any that look good enough to use as greetings/celebration etc. type cards. She has stacks of blank cards with insets that a photo can be stuck to. I've sorted about 50 of those for her.

If it's not raining later I want to cut back all the blackberries. I reduce them about 6"-12" each year and remove dead stems. They grow up to 30ft a year and I have already cut them back to 4ft. The rest of the work is difficult for my back as I have to be bent over to do them, even though I use long handled loppers. They cover an area about 20ft x 3ft which doesn't seem too much until you start cutting them. There will be hundreds of stems to cut. They're 70 years old and still producing an abundance of fruit every year.

From this afternoon I'm Zooming about :heehee:. 3 p.m. with the friends that help run Open Day for us. 5 p.m. there are forty cousins all round the world (mainly UK and US) which gets a bit chaotic. 6.30 p.m. with family in US and Brazil. Yesterday morning it was a Zoom with family in UK, US, Israel and Australia. :phew:

            Keep well

            Aloha!

Hope everyone is well this morning, eager for Lori's update on how Sam is doing today.

@shiney ...we are faced with a massive stack of old photos and family albums too that my Mum kept . My niece is going to digitalize them all ,but obviously that will be a major project and will take time. We will all then be given hard copies and the precious and in some case very fragile albums with be stored away for future generations. Some albums have stunning hand painted decorative pages and belonged to my Great Grandparents.

Not sure what today's plans are yet as the wind is howling around the house ..the noise is tremendous!!

              Have a safe day everyone.:spinning:

                Mornin' everyone.

Lori, I was approved for renewal of my driving license in April (we have to have medical clearance every two years at age over 70) but I have not driven. Easy peasy getting in and out as I built up my glutes/quads etc and still exercise daily ... but am not there 100% yet. Under current environment I don't go out on my own ... this is good timing for me. Virtual hugs to you both, you are in my thoughts.

@shiney, some years ago we had all our photos all over the lounge floor, stacks here and there, photos moving from this stack to that. It took weeks. All negatives were burnt ... did this in the winter with log fire going. Now we only have one under-bed rolling container.

Good morning all, my parents have two big boxes of photos, I love looking through them now and again :spinning: happy childhood memories.

Hoping too that Sam is feeling a little better and the antibiotics are working :dbgrtmb:
Shiney sounds like you need to let your wife sort the photos out if she needs to decide on which you are keeping, what’s the weather like where you are? It’s raining heavy here again

Morning @Flumpy , still windy and still dry here for the moment, but rain is on it's way . We have a weather warning in place for heavy rain today.

                        Morning all!

Horrendous rain during the night. Managed to nip out to feed the birds quickly and then it started bucketing it down again.

This patch in the middle of the garden, where I had sown grass, had started to grow...
9FF568A8-7E95-46BF-ACCC-E6CDF5B0732F.jpeg I bet it will rot now :(

I've also got loads of photographs to go through that my grandma has given me. But for now they can stay in a box in the eaves.

Today I will be sorting out the utility cupboards and kitchen bench storage. Seems like its that kinda day.

have a good day everyone and hope everyone keeps healthy xx

We have to renew the licence every three years (over the age of 70) but we only need to self-certify that we're physically fit for it! I've renewed a few times byt was supposed to renew a couple of months ago and found out, when I went on the website, that they have given an automatic 6 month extension to it as they are not able to keep up with things because of working from home.

Heavy rain earlier this morning but mild. I've been out shopping and the roads were flooded but it's dry and sunny now. The wind has just started to pick up.

... what can i say? :yikes: We also have six month extensions but I went ahead and got it out of the way. If you take the six month extension I guess you then only have 18 months / 2-1/2 years next time around? :dunno:

I know...pure madness!! We wanted our Dad to pack up when he reached 90, but he was adamant that he was fit to drive...he was so bent he could hardly see over the steering wheel, my concerns were strengthen once went we went over to GC when each time he came to a junction he asked me if it was clear....because he couldn't turn his head/ neck !!!:yikes:Thankfully ( and I mean this in a nice way ;)) after falling in the garden and becoming even more 'stiff' he conceded and gave up his licence. Phew!!!

Hello everyone. Spent the whole morning defragging my PC and running security programs through it only to find there is nothing wrong with it. So I phoned Tesco about the problems I was experiencing and it appears they know they have problems on their site. They are certainly taking their time to sort it.
Have a good day, stay safe and well. God bless. :wub2:
