Didn't realise it was just a snap shot for 1 week :noidea: Is there any data giving a full overview of locations where covid can be caught?
FC had a good point that the very high supermarket tally of 18% does not tally with shop worker sickness hopefully.

It seems to change every week, as soon as some high risk activiites are banned, what were less riskier ones go to the top of the list.

Bournemouth beach is probably OK now

No hadn't forgotten that, but it seems strange to me that all the late summer when pubs and restaurants were open the virus appeared to be pretty much under control.
A month or so after schools went back numbers started to rise.

I remember, when at work it was always the people who had kids that came into work with colds and then spread them all around.
Kids tend to be the biggest spreaders of most of these kinds of things.

Do you remember the crowds on beaches back in Summer? Did that cause a spike in covid cases? If not then,
            why now?

From that, I draw three potential conclusions:

                - Kids should be vaccinated first
                - Kids should go to boarding school at the age of five and stay there until the age of 18
                Or
                - You are proposing a cull of some sort, similar to the badgers and mink....

If anybody wanted a private flu jab, Mrs Scrungee has just been advised by Lloyds Pharmacy that they now have them available (but she's already got hers through doing voluntary support work for vulnerable people).

                  You missed out the point.
Schools are the spreaders so should be shut down first.

But then parents wont be able to work because in these days kinds cant be left alone, I believe, unlike how it used to be.
So in effect, you cant have a "lockdown" based on schools being open and everyone still going to work, how is that a lockdown?

Then simply stop those employees from bringing their snotty nosed sick kids into their workplace.

This data shows where people are, not what the risk of infection in any of these is. Take any 100 households and ask them to raise their hand if they have been

etc in the past two weeks. Most households would have been to supermarkets but less so in (closed) pubs or manufacturing sites.

Similar study could be done on the number of car accidents. I bet the vast majority would occur for drivers who are sober and are driving between 30mph and 80mph. A very small number of accidents would be cases where the driver was drunk and doing 150mph. So accident prevention should be focusing on forcing all drivers to get drunk and do 150mph because the stats show that only a negligible number of accidents fall under this category. [IMG]

(Those deleleted activities, together with all the others apart from gardening and dog walking were banned during Lockdown 1).

One of my favourite ROSPA statistics used to be that the garden implement that caused the most injuries was a hose pipe.

We have had new rules issued ...

"LISBON (Reuters) - Portugal is to ban domestic travel and close schools around two upcoming holidays in a bid to reduce the spread of coronavirus ahead of Christmas, Prime Minister Antonio Costa said on Saturday.

Travel between municipalities will be banned from 11 p.m. on Nov. 27 to 5 a.m. on Dec. 2, and then again from 11 p.m. on Dec. 4 to 5 a.m. on Dec. 9, to prevent movement around national holidays on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8.

Schools will close on the Mondays before both holidays, while businesses must close early. Employers are being encouraged to give workers the day off in order to minimise travel activity."

These travel restrictions may go in effect for Christmas/New Year as well. Won't bother us as we don't go anywhere and some of our friends live in our county anyway. In restricted counties they cannot go on the road after 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays too.

We have had our first death in our county/municipality, a 78 year old man :frown: and currently have 86 active cases out of an original 231 confirmed since the beginning. I am the green dot at the bottom and both counties to the East and West have extra restrictions for two weeks starting Tuesday ...
