No, no, no, connecting a bulb to the internet doesn't make it smart, just as connecting an idiot to the internet doesn't make them smart.

(That's my moan).

 

Yes I do too but it's very useful when lying in bed and you don't want to get out of bedAt first i used to switch them off manually and messed up the settings, sometimes i still go to do it and then i remember.

 

We have not bothering to connect anything to our Alexa.....some people use it to do everything for them. In this day and age we feel that all opportunities to do some level of exercise is much needed....even for fingers pressing a light switch!! In years to come humans will be born limbless !!!

 

Must admit I use the smart part of the TV.
I even joined britbox because I tend to only watch old stuff.
Though I must admit some of that is too new for me.

 

I just find I have to sit down more these days.

 

Same here @shiney , no smart meters, no smart phones, don't tend to watch TV .... we even turn off our Alexa Show off when not in use as my tablet is linked and will let us know if my sister or our sons are calling, not happy to have a camera staring at us !! Likewise...over the top maybe, but we have covers to fit over my tablet's and laptop's cameras too. You can't be too cautious about who might be eavesdropping into your daily life with all this so called ' smart ' technology

 

I had one of those in the 60s, saved a lot of money regarding developing costs.

 

And he will still be stuffed in a power cut the same as you and me, but we here can still cook and heat our home with out elecy, candles and trouches tea lights for light

 

Most of the bulbs in our house resemble those low wattage one's.
They were sent by our electricity supplier in a large box of freebies years ago.
When they fail, i buy other more compact modern varieties.
So long as they are in the range of 5 to 11 watts consumption I'm quite happy. This modern one is 5.5 watts.. Lovely!

 

I don't bother. If someone wants watch me at my computer they're welcome; but they really need to get out more.
