If you're in Tier 3 (AKA 'local lockdown') you also need to read the Local Authority Order, plus if a student, any additional rules imposed by your uni.

If intending going outside your area, you need to be aware of the rules in the areas/countries you intend visiting, plus any quarantine periods required and monitor any changes whilst away and right up to your return.

There's also rumoured to be some short term changes over the Xmas petiod.

2 Friends of my daughter are trying to re-schedule their hen/stag events, wedding, reception, honeymoon, etc. and are having a bit of trouble.

I wish all those clever people on the TV would stop saying "the virus doesn't know its Christmas ".

We all know that Piers Morgan to be the loudest and most repetitive one.

I see your point Jiffy, bearing in mind people pay a bit extra on a flight to offset their carbon footprint.
I'm trying to come up with 29 people I know in order to get my allotted share this Christmas. ;)

These Xmas relaxation of the lock down rules. I don't think the rules should be changed to accommodate Xmas - some people are going to meet up for Xmas no matter what the rules say. Again it's another choice for people to make - have a normal Xmas jolly or protect the health of the ones you care for.

On TV this morning - a brainiac saying don't meet up over Xmas and a journalist saying it's OK. One of them is wrong - I wonder which...

"Up to three households will be allowed to stay together and form a "Christmas bauble" from 23 to 27 December, as agreed by all four UK nations.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson told people to use "personal judgement" on whether to visit elderly relatives.

A scientific adviser to the government said the relaxation of rules amounted to "throwing fuel on the Covid fire".

Some people will form a different group of 3 families on every one of those 5 days, and they will interpret the rules as 3 families, not 3 households, as that's the wording some newspapers have been using.
