It's a political exercise being driven by Christmas, nothing to do with saving lifes. Boris must think we are all as stupid as him.

They keep talking about testing, now I know in principle testing should show up who has the virus and who doesn't.
But I still say, if you test more in one area than another you will find more cases.

So I cant think testing does anything other than give us statistics.

But then you have to think, how many people are there out there that have it and dont know ?

Could be more than those that do.

How about if everyone went on the principle that everyone else has either a) had it, recovered but is still infectious, b) has it but doesn't know and is infectious, c) has it, knows, is infectious but doesn't care or d) is an alien employed by the government to spread it as a greater plot to kill off the elderly and mind-control everyone under the age of 60. There....think that just about covers it ;)

I thought that was the primary idea:doh:  You test, you find the people, where ever, who test positive and ask them to self isolate. Whether it's in one area or another you've found someone infected and for the sake of their Family, friends and the Public they should isolate. We're not talking about stats here, we're talking about testing more and more to find, and hopefully isolate, those with COVID 19.

The ONS are receiving data from blanket testing areas to check the levels of positive cases in those compared to positive cases from those attending testing centres, and indentify the amount of asymptomatic cases.

But, ARMANDII, surely the very people who are going to resist being tested are also the ones who will flout all the regulations, so spreading it? Which brings us back to the 'military on the streets and obligatory tests' scenario?

Yep, but unfortunately, in every country, including the EU, Noisette, there are those who will, and do, resist even acknowledging the existence of Covid 19, and will always do what they want and not what is responsible. You can take a Horse to water, but you can't make it drink..........so what do you do?, you can't force it to drink in a Democracy whether it needs to or not.
America is an example of where they declare it's an American right to walk around without a mask, not be tested, catch the disease, die, or kill someone else. Military regimes can never get rid of those who oppose their policies and actions and only bring fear to those countries. I haven't heard one Democratic country that has advocated imposing compulsory testing with or without using the Military.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

I wouldn't worry - vaccination is going to be compulsory anyway, so that should put paid to it all.
