    Aloha everyone,

We need to do some fence painting today. Having removed some of the privet hedge the unpainted fence is exposed. The privet ran for a couple of hundred feet from the summerhouse towards the bottom of the garden. Where the summerhouse is there used to be a laurel hedge that was 8ft high, 40ft long and 8ft wide. Two thirds of the width of the laurel was in our garden and a third extended into the neighbour's garden (before our time, and we've been here over 48 years).

When we were building the summerhouse we needed to remove the laurel and asked the neighbour if he wanted us to leave it on his side. He decided we should take it all out and he would put up a fence. He put in the fence and extended it two panels past our summerhouse. Now that we've removed some of the privet that was hiding the two panels we need to paint it to match the rest of it. It will need to be cleaned down first and I shall have to look at it closely to see whether it only needs a stiff brushing or pressure washing.

I may copy this into 'what are you doing in the garden' :)

    Keep well

    Aloha!

        Morning all!

A much milder day here so far...no frost this morning but still as grey as ever.

I'll be doing some more jet washing later today. This morning I've tidied up my christmas crafting as the whole conservatory was a total mess. Just lately I feel like the whole house is a mess of my stuff...it's usually me moaning at Dave about his mess. Lol.

Weve got the real christmas tree up this year we bought a tree from Aldi...about £40 cheaper!!! And the tree is just as good, if not better!!

The lights are far too bright and not "warm" as per the box, but hey ho.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

        xxx

Good morning everyone, hope you missed me my computer has been on holiday, had a clean up and a new on/off switch mechanism installed. My arms have all come up in a nasty red heat rash, very itchy and hard for me not to scratch it so I just put some skin cream on it.
Have a good day, take it easy and stay safe and well. :wub2:

I'm on to it @Michael Hewett :dbgrtmb:...been out since 7am over at my brother's supervising his grocery delivery ( 7-8am) as he finds it all a tad overwhelming.

              Off now....... :gardening:

Try not to do too much today folks and stay safe :dbgrtmb:

                        Good day
@moyra I hope the lotion helps with your rash. I was scratching just reading your post so you know that I surely do sympathise with your lot. Itchiness is so frustrating!

@Upsydaisy good of you to be there for your brother and I do hope you get your bulbs in. @Flumpy I've done that, tossed something and then needed it a week or two later. @shiney I'd pressure wash the fence anyway as you might as well bring out the big guns so as not to have to go back later. @Snorky85 love your tree and am still fascinated with your wallpaper. The colours are lovely :)

Sounds like everyone else is okey dokey this morning. I've got my 6 episodes of my beloved Corrie airing this morning so I will be busy in the kitchen listening to it whilst getting my Xmas cakes done. And I'll run up and down the stairs with the remainder of the laundry during commercial breaks. The ads run for a good 5 minutes and it's amazing what one can do in that length of time.;)

We go to the nurse today for Sam to have her bandage changed and since we didn't get the greenhouse washed up yesterday, we'll do some of that today. I bought some sparkly stuff to hang in there too to cheer it up for the holidays.

Have a lovely day all :coffee:

Just woke up and looked outside and got back into bed...heavy mist/fog and cant see to the end of the garden. Another damp day ahead.

@CanadianLori are you up to date with Corrie over in Canada or are you a few years/months behind?
Bluebellgray | Floral Bedding, Fabrics & Home Accessories -check it out Lori...that's where my wallpaper is from. Is Sam feeling better now?

@moyra a rash could be anything from stress to an infection so please be careful- dont want you to be poorly for xmas xx

Well, loads to do today...plant bulbs, jet washing, sanding that blimmin chair that's taking forever...but for now, Tea in bed as Im shattered. Thought I slept badly and Dave said I was shouting in my sleep again

Morning @Snorky85 ......same here today . Looking out over the surrounding fields and woodland I can't see the horses or the trees!! Very foggy indeed.

Was going to do our laundry but it's too damp, so I'll save it for a nicer day....:fingers crossed: If not then I'll succumb to using the tumble dryer. Much prefer to line dry if possible though.

Just finishing my cuppa then I'm going over to brother's....he's got himself a bit distressed over things and we're trying to phone the hospital this morning to make things easier all round......for him and them!!!:fingers crossed:;)

Alzheimer's is so distressing to suffer from without any doubt but equally it's heart breaking to standby helplessly witnessing it gradually steal away a person that you love so dearly. So glad my parent's didn't live to know about this ......it was awful enough for them to have to see severe rheumatoid arthritis robbed him at the age off 18 from having a normal and active life and leaving him disabled and unable to continue working by 38.
Why do bad things always seem to happen to lovely people??

Anyway..snap out of it girl.....it's now all about making his life as brilliant as possible.
First stop is to try and get all the people dealing with him singing from the same hymn book.....that's a challenge in itself!!!

Got to dash , keep safe everyone and if you have to venture out drive carefully in this fog :dbgrtmb:
                              :spinning:

                                Aloha everyone,

Can't see the end of my garden at any time! :roflol:

I'm going to pop out there soon to continue having a go at the Creeping Jenny that is invading the front garden. I started on it yesterday late afternoon until it got dark. I can't do more than 30-45 minutes at a time as it puts too much stress on my legs. As it needs two hands to do it (trowel hand and pulling hand :)) I'm unable to support my knees to take the strain off. So I have to bend straight down (knees can't take any weight when bent) which stresses the calf and thigh muscles. This is good weather for working on it as the soil is soft. I hope to fill another bucket with it before having to pack up. :blue thumb:

I have my regular chiropodist appointment later this morning. So I had better have my once a fortnight shower. :heehee:

                                Keep well

                                Aloha!
