Then perhaps the off licences should be closed, but I suppose they would head for the late opening supermarkets instead. I don't think we have off licences here in Scotland, I haven't seen any.

 

I dont think I've seen one for years now, the supermarkets put them all out of business

 

A friend of my wife's was told by a relative who received a confidential email, that care home residents (or might have been elderly in tier below) are going to be bussed into area vaccination centres based at designated hospitals.

Anybody else heard that?

The Garrafeiras (Off Licenses) here are becoming fewer. We were saying it yesterday as we want some Ginger Wine. However petrol stations sell beer so when we have early shut downs they cannot sell it. Also fast food chains (McDonalds, KFC, whatever sell beer, ie, with a meal you can choose a soft drink, water or a beer.

 

Googling "off licence near me" produced details of 12 off licences

 

We have an off licence in the village and 3 convenience stores that sell drink. I can't recall many more off licences off the top of my head, most have closed due to the supermarkets.

 

My two off licence"s closed more than 10yrs ago.
There used to be a wine shop in a village about 6miles away but that shut down a year ago.

Got a place down the road called bargain booze but they sell food and other stuff, and as for a bargain, I've not found one in there yet.

 

None here either, only local small supermarket . Even in our nearby town we haven't got any.

 

Just had a look in Yellow Pages for wine producers that sell direct in Lot et Garonne. It runs to 4 pages...... There are also a couple of micro-breweries for those that like that sort of thing, and various wandering alembic operators making sure that none of the surplus fruit goes to waste No 24hr supermarkets, though!
